Habits is a lot of it. Unless we start changing our habits, our future generations will be more doomed than we are.

Also, lifestyle and society and environment play a large part in it.
How many fast food restaurants do we see when we go down the street, compared to other restaurants? So many more!!!!!

Also, the fact that both mom and dad usually work play a part in this problem as well. People just don't feel like preparing a good, healthy meal when they get home from work. It is just too easy to go buy fast food for the family.

I think Americans have the feeling they're loosing out on life compared to others and compared to their lives a few years ago. That makes them less likely to endure any pain or inconvenience they can avoid. Especially feeling any kind of hunger or tiredness from exercise. The result in visible from 100 yards away.

because people have always looked for easier ways to get things done so over time we have and will continue to get more lazy unfortunately. we don't eat to the point of not being hungry anymore.. we keep going until we are full and then too tired to get up and do anything! b/c of this, there is more of a market for this lifestyle so the healthier stuff is not as accessable and cheap as the non-healthy things.

Because Americans are self prided and self righteous. They always think they are the righteous ones compare to others. It's a weird combination between arrogance and ignorance.

I would like to know that answer to your question also. I think that it comes down to profit and monopolizing on people wants. It is not fair, but it is the way it is.
