Well, in my case, I am teaching in a school ( is my job ), I watch TV in English.
Don't feel so bad, you might become a little rusty, but in a single year you won't lose so much.
As for the French, which is at risk, I try to talk with people who speak it ( in the USA ) there are very few.
I would advise you to buy books, programs, and listen to TV.
Besides, English is common. I am sure that you can find someone to practice with

Find a conversation partner, watch TV in English, read challenging books, read magazines, find an English pen pal. Ia there and British/American/Canadian/etc.cultural centre near you? You could join that (usually a very small fee to join) and get to know English speaking people.

Just try to find as many opportunities to be around the language. That is what I do with French (my second language). I wish you luck!

The only way to retain a language is to use it. Try to read, write, speak and listen in the language daily. These four different actions are resident in 4 different parts of the brain, and all must be exercised to retain fluency.

Ideas:

Listen to radio, & podcasts that the subject holds your interest.

Watch television & movies that interest you but are in English.

Get a Penpal with common interests and write daily.

Use Skype (http://skype.com) to find and chat with folks who share an interest with you.

The only way I can think of to suggest would be to try studying on your own. Read books written in English. Try to speak English often in your conversations. If you don't know or forgot how to say something, ask a friend.

Watch TV and/or films in english and put the subtitles on, it's a great way to learn new vocabulary. Go on holidays in english speaking countries and mix with the locals. Good luck.
