I was both disgusted and annoyed that on xmas day morning radio 5 devoted a large portion of there morning prog to yet another debate on the rights & wrongs of muslim women wearing vails.THIS WAS CHRISTMAS DAY. A christian festival not yet more time to be bloody brainwashed with yet more muslim crap. I am not raciest but I do admit I find it hard to trust or respect muslims. Radio 5 you were bang out of order to spout yet more muslim properganda on such a day. We are a Christian country. Christams day is a christian festival/celebration. Radio 5 planners hang your heads in shame.

This is a Christian country and Islam does deny that Jesus is God. Islam therefore does not possess the truth. The Truth is found in the Universal(Catholic) Christian Church. It says in the Bible that The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth.
I did not see the programme mentioned but we should be talking about Christianity and our Saviour Jesus, not Islam.
Just a note. Would Christians in Pakistan be able to even debate this in safety? I think not.

Im sorry that you feel so upset. 1. Christmas is not a christian celebration, as so many here have said it was celebrated before jesus christ was born. 2. Honey im sorry to say this but this is a free country. when the europeans (or whom ever) migrated here they urged and demanded free religion. so when you hear those muslums on radio 5 they are doing what they have the right to do. if you feel so upset just dont listen. there were plenty of other radio station talking about santa and raindeers. As a christian i think you think about other religions too much. you should worry about how you can worship god and jesus fully :o) just remember that one day that same muslim u might not trust might hold your hand when you need a hand to be held.. really think about that

why were you listening to the radio anyway? i imagine the radio station figured if people were truly celebrating Christmas they'd be out with their families or on church or something. therefore, their demographic would then be the people who weren't celebrating Christmas. Next time, get some Cd's of Christmas music and spend time with your family or watch the game or something.

also, you can't be racist against Muslims, they're not a race. It's like saying you're racist against Christians. You'd be prejudiced and bigoted which clearly you are as you don't trust or respect Muslims (that's actually pretty much the definition of prejudiced)

next year, go to church.

Christmas is truthfully not a christian event.

Christmas is a way of making monetary profit. It is geared around purchasing gifts by consumers. In it's paganistic origin, the belief of getting christian involvement or (money from devout Christians) the world would have to include, WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME CLAUSE. So the spiritual occasion of the baby Jesus receiving gifts was implored to make us feel a part. A part of what you might say. A part of feeling the warmth of giving while sending ourselves into financial distress. I mean if I'm going to do something, why not for Christ, huh.
Well, anyway, many Christians were lured into participation through subliminal thinking (as we are often lured into many things as well as stereotypes). The media is on it's job. They get our monies as well as the monies of non-Christians this time of the year.
I'm sorry Virginia, But Jesus Is Not The Reason For The Season, and Santa Claus Is a Fake. St. Nicholas combined with Christkindlein forming a imaginary LIE. Any lie is a lie!
We can teach children to be giving, kind and loving without having to lie to them. I had a school teacher who taught me how nice it was to share with others and she didn't lie at all.
Signed, The Preacher

Christmas may have it's origins in Christianity, but no more. In the UK at least, with only 4% of people attending church or Christmas Day, clearly for most people the religious aspect is lost. Myself, I celebrate it as a British festivel. I am not Christian, but what has Christianity to do with trees, presents, tinsel, turkey, or any of the other things we associate with it. Where is Father Christmas in the bible? I've read it in four languages, and trust me, he ain't in there. Christmas is about gluttony, family, commercialism and drunkenness. I agree, their should be programming appropriate to the festival but Radio 5 serves everyone, not just Christians, why not tune into one of the many Christian radio stations. They didn't not have Christmas shows on for fear of offending other faiths, because as a member of a non-Christian faith, trust me, we couldn't care less. Most of use celebrate Christmas.

BTW, I don't mean to offend, but you are a racist. Someone who judges others on the basis of their race is a racist. You said you find id hard to trust muslims. You are putitng them all in the same pot (and Islam is a religion with followers of many races) and judging them as the same, unworthy of your trust. So you are a racist.

Its a month-long party and client holiday right here in the U. S. and another places, a brilliant form of human beings desire to have relaxing. At my former place of artwork, which became at a school, anybody became forced to connect in the events regardless of their religious ideals. some reluctantly went and people who did no longer have been the placement of gossip and rumors. lots of the customs of Christmas have been already traditions till now Jesus became born, it became a pagan party for a pagan holiday and whilst the Romans have been switched over to Christianity they did no longer desire to surrender their traditions of Solitice holiday so they positioned the call of Jesus on the holiday and saved lots of the relaxing traditions. some traditions which includes Santa Claus have been further, and the admired-day image of Santa Claus comes from Coca-Cola merchandising marketing campaign in the early 1900's. There are some religious Christians who do no longer rejoice Christmas because of the fact they have not got faith it became the authentic start date of Jesus plus they gained't grow to be in touch in something remotely pagan.

Christmas is a celebration stolen from the pagans. They would celebrate the winter solstice (like many other cultures around the world). It's the longest night of the year (therefore the shortest day of the year). The winter solstice is to celebrate the return of the sun and the rebirth of nature. The celebrations used to last few days. The christians used this celebration to trick people into converting to christianity.

Christmas is the feast of Saturnalia when in the old days you ate up all the surplus food that could not be preserved for the winter. It is also the birthday of Mythras who was the god the Roman army worship ed. When Christianity was accepted as the official Roman religion they simply took over the Mythras celebration. Incidently Mythras was killed about easter time and was reserected three days later

Christmas is about love and friendship, who cares what belief you have, and just to point out the Holiday is actually a roman holiday, as Christ was born around March and these two dates were combined, based on FACT

I've taught my daughter there are different elements that make up X-mas. Many overlap..

The Traditional/Pagan - Anything using symbols like European trees & snow.
The (X-ian) Religious - the nativity story
The non-X-ian festivals about the same time - endless list.
& the Commerscial - need I say more.
