OK so mary was a virgin and gave birth to Jesus? How many times has that been historicly recorded, except for Mary? Have you ever heard of another immaculent conception? Also have you ever seen global evidence of a global flood?? Niether have the geologists.. I'm not telling yuo to disbelieve in your religion, but please use your common sense! I believe there was a man named Jesus who was crucified for his beliefs, Just as I'm about get figuritively crucified by the religous, with thier rants. Just please use your head, not everthing in the bible was "written" by god, just imperfect ppl tryng to make the world a better place by using stories to scare us into submission. I geuss what I am ultimately trying to say is use your head! Yes I was born into a christian family, I was preached to thoroghly by my mom, and preachers, I was brought up in a strict christian household, but I learned how to think for myself. Maybe you should to..

Are you angery at God? Who hurt you?
Jesus shared a parable about sower going out to sow seeds. He said what kind of soil/ground the seeds fell on and what happened to the seeds. Since you were raised up in a Christian church I am sure you already know that the sower presents a preacher or Christian witness, the seed represents the Word of God and the soil/ground represents the heart of a person. Therefore, you were blessed to be raised in a Christian home and be surrounded by good Christians who taught you the right way to live and believe-THEY WERE THE SOWERS OF THE WORD. But you have every right to chose NOT to accept the sower's seed. It's your human right, your heart (the soil/ground) to say. " I dont believe any of that junk' but dont try to tear down the Kingdom of God because you will only bring harm to yourself. Because you cannot make the Bible non-effectual nor untrue. You are trying to disprove God and the Bible by foolish science exploration and theories. As for Mary being a virgin and giving birth to Son of God, it did happen whether you accpet it or not. Will it happen again? No, it will not happen again because it isnt necessary! When Jesus announced on the cross, " It is finished" He meant nothing needs to be done to fix the mess that the devil created thru Adam and Eve. There is plan for everyone to be saved, if it is only by having faith in God. I feel sad for your dear parents. How disappointed and heart broken they must be after trying so hard to instill truth in you at an early age. Satan certainly has done a number on you. I pray God will open your eyes to Truth and expose the deceptions of darkness.

good questions,

the flood, yes there are sea shells in elevations above 7000 feet, the flood not only got things wet, but think of the weight of water, and how it can also cause land formations.

You may research how does oil form, and how does a skeleton fossilize itself in the earth, Most of the dino's dies suddenly. also they would have to been buried suddenly as with the deposits from plants and had to be under pressure. A massive flood is a possibility that meets all those effects that have been uncovered.

It is a good thing that you use your head, and you are correct a person should go on impulse. Study and research are needed to come to an accurate conclusion. But by weighing the facts and just plain observation, The bible account is quite valid.

Often, when we grow up in controlling environments, we tend to rebel against what's being stuffed down our throats, so I understand your thinking for yourself thing. Now, here's a question that you can think about for yourself. Can you PROVE that God doesn't exist? Can you prove that the Virgin Mary didn't have an immaculate conception? Can you prove that there was NO flood. How can ANYONE prove that something doesn't exist? Can you take a picture? Keep on your search and I hope you find something. If you seek you will find!

Just because I believe that the Bible is God's Word and wholly true does not mean I don't think for myself. There is evidence of world-wide flooding - and geologists are beginning to find it. There are sea creatures (fish and the like) embedded in the highest mountains in Colorado. The virgin birth is a miracle - God being all powerful can do anything. I don't limit Him. If He says the rocks will sing, He can make that happen. I believe differently than do you - that does not mean I'm less intelligent. The wisdom of the world is so limited compared to complete knowledge that those who put their faith in man's wisdom will come out short.

There are MANY evidences of the flood. They are all over the place. The evidence of Jesus' virgin birth is NOT all around us. We live in a society that questions everything. I take a serious look at almost everything well ahead of believing it to be true. I do believe that "Through GOD all things are possible". This is the driving force along with the prophesies of Christ that makes me believe in HIS virgin birth. GOD is THE ONE who made Everything Possible!! Have a great week.

PS... For another answerer- Nowhere in the BIBLE are we told that Mary was completely SINLESS. In fact, we were told that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD!

All scripture is God breathed and useful for learning God's ways. Either you believe it or you don't. It's all or nothing. God used ordinary men to write as vessels to relay his word, but they are God's words, nonetheless. Since you say you think for yourself maybe you should think more about this subject. Is it possible you're letting the world tell you what to think? These days it's cool to not believe in God or to mock God. Don't let liars and mockers deceive you. Your family had you on the right path, maybe they aren't perfect, but the direction they was pointing you to is perfect. And there is no better way to use you head than by trusting God. He won't stear you wrong.

I vorted for Obama and disagree with him on more desirable than 1/2 of the regulations that he endorses. i believe that i'd be a lot less pleased with McCain, yet i'm not precisely thrilled through the present president. And please, do not imagine that i'd favor for him to have more desirable conservative regulations for the time of the bard. that's why i hit upon it humorous at the same time as correct wingers call Obama the messiah. those human beings on the left, in my view, have a tendency to be quite severe of our leaders. i'm a Barry goldwater conservative at the same time as it includes guns and conflict (i elect to maintain my guns and that i do not opt for youthful human beings despatched to conflict except it really is a very last hotel. Iraq would not in good structure!) i be counted on liberty and do not really care who can get married to who. i imagine that a civilized united states of america might want to confirm out a fashion to have complete well-being look after its human beings. they have been doing a superb pastime elsewhere for decades.

I totally agree with you, my friend. No one knows what, who, where god is and everything in the bibles were written by men who want to control simple lamb-like followers so that they can make money and have sex with everyone they choose. That's what it's all about, being strong or weak. Those in control (like the priest, the pope and other religious leaders) will always be on top as long as they have people who believe in whatever they say.

Stay strong and believe in yourself. That's the only truth!

Why is it that if I believe that God is real that I am not thinking for myself and that since you don't you do? You don't know what brought me to the decision to follow Christ. I was not born to my faith. My family didn't see the value in faith in Christ. I had to go looking for God. I found what I was looking for in Jesus Christ. So put your self righteous superiority away. If you want to cross intellectual swords with me fine I'll enter a discussion on the reality of God any time you wish. I have VERY strong evidence of His reality. So strong it has been called proof by many. Jim

I too was raised up in a Christian home, & I do have the sense to think for myself, No one forced me on my decisions, I am 57 yrs. Old, God save me when I was a little over 20, In May 1970, My mother nor my minister, nor anyone else had any say so in it, It was between God & me. Now after more than 36 yrs. I am still thinking on my own, & I will never turn back to this worldly living for anything, God has bless my life since he saved me, & I don't have any regrets, So friend you see, I do make my own decision on serving God, That is what is known as thinking for yourself & with CS, OOPPS, I forgot CS means Common Sense, now don't you think it is time you thought for yourselve, Because right now satan is doing your thinking for you.
