For me it was pure torture. Two of us are diabetics and my sister/host neglected to have any diet drinks and there were tons of sugary desserts everywhere.

♥ That sucks that your Christmas wasn't very good because of your family members. Some of us had that same problem yesterday. I have to admit that yes in some parts my Christmas was a little bit miserable because of some of my family members. I was annoyed beyond my limit but somehow I didn't show it.

Are you an adult? Did you bring any food or offer to help prepare the food? Many of my adult family members have some kind of medical issue - including my mom who is a diabetic. Although I hosted our celebration, everyone brought something - even if it was small. We included everyone in the discussion of what we would and could eat and who would bring it. It worked out nicely, nobody had to do everything! I loved it!
Maybe it wasn't just the food issues that bothered you? I spent a few minutes ahead of time thinking of a few ways to make our interaction a little more fun too. I really enjoyed the time we spent together, not just the food. And, you never know when will be your "last Christmas" with a loved one - so treasure what you have, even if it's not easy. Love is a choice.

Well then u should of brought your own drink.Water is good for u too.I think people that have certain needs should think ahead and take care of them,You could of reminding her before the party. If this was her first party why didn't u ask to help? She is your sister. My family except my mom are died.We use to all get together at my Nana's.We would be considerate enough to find out what esle needed doing or brought to the party.Remember some day they might not be here for u to complain about.Happy New Year.

my mother died when i was 8 yrs old(dont ask me why).. my father and his concubine had their own child(my lil step bro) when i was 11. i really hated my father that time and really wanted to kill my lil bro and my step mom. but then i came to realize how much my lil bro is significant to me. im 17 yrs old presently and my brother is 6, i promised to myself and to my deceased mom that i would treat him like he came from her. i always cary him, play with him child-ish games, treat him to his favorite pizza and more. but my stepmom doesnt want my lil bro to see me, i dunno why.. and my father supports her. right now im living alone in a dorm(college) and every christmas i miss my lil bro veeeEEeEeery much( i dont get to see him for about a month every xmas season), my dad, eventhough he supports the b*tch, and ofcourse my mom. actually, i cried alot of times this christmas, i was missing them so much i wanted to go home. but i can't. i tell you, don't take the time you are with your family for granted, especially during these special occasions, you would realize how much they are signifant to you when one of them(your loved ones) passes away. just find happiness during the times you are with them. mind you, its hard living alone.

ps. sorry for the english.. im asian. ;p
