I just find it hard to imagine that this is what he would have wanted.

In John 4:26 he told the Samaritian that, "God is Spirit, and those who worship him must do so in spirit and in truth." Worship needs to come from the heart, and be done on God's terms, not our own. That being said, I would say the answer to your question is no.

I agree with you, because if Jesus is the source to life, than why we struggle to find life. What I mean by that is we should be trying to go beyond what has been false life since is death 2000 years ago. Is it that we are unwilling to trust him or is it tradition that stands in our way. If we would change our taught that would be bad for those in our life that pull the strings. As we all witness people will do any thing for money even the religious, because they believe they need to eat from the store, that shelter is a home and that Christ is in a church. So with out commence what do we have?

Well if you think about your question really hard in a bad way, then no. Because a lot of people aren't being Christian. But if you mean it in a good way, like HOW we are worshiping him, not IF we are worshiping him, then yes. Jesus died for our sins because he loves us, he actually DIED for us. Isn't that amazing? Don't you think we should worship him greatly? So, yes, he loves to be, well, loved LoL.

The reason I think some of us have problems with this is that we view these things from our own limited perspective.

Jesus was both God and Man and therefore understood our perspective, though we could not fully understand His. He was and is however "One with God" and so our most appropriate response to the loving sacrifice that He made, so that our sins might be forgiven, is to worship Him with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength. It is infact a commandment:

Mar 12:30-31
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. (KJV)

Joh 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (KJV)

I think that we lost sight of what God intended. For example, look at how many different types of religion there are. Yet in God's Word it plainly states that there is "ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all who is above all, through all, and in you all". Therefore, I think we're on the right track in many respects, but because the Word has been held under subjection by everyone who has read the Scriptures since the Council of Nicea, it has become twisted by individual thought into something similar to what God wanted and that's simply not enough!

Mary Christmas to all...

This is what Muslims think:

Your God said.

"And behold! God will say [i.e. on the Day of Judgment]: 'Oh Jesus, the son of Mary! Did you say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God?' He will say: 'Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would indeed have known it. You know what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Yours. For You know in full all that is hidden. Never did I say to them anything except what You commanded me to say: 'Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I lived among them. When You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a witness to all things'" (5:116-117).

how do they worship Him? for us Christians, everything except sin can be an act of worship as long as you do it for God. not all people worship Jesus, and not all people worship the same God. they don't even worship the same way as different people do. everything can be acts of worship as long as you are doing it for God. this is true worship, and this pleases Jesus. if all were to worship Him this way, He would be delighted.

If you don't want to worship that's fine I won't make you. If a person want to show his love for God in a special way what is that to you? I am a father, you sound like you have no children. As a father there is no way I don't love my children to tell me or show me that they love me. I can't imagine that God is less of a Father than I am. He therefore loves anyway that His children show Him their love. Your question is silly... Jim

Simple answer-no. He is alleged to have said "my kingdom is not of this world." He did not have the ego of many church leaders who literally believe they are God's gift to organized religion, because he was not all about amassing followers. He was about self-transcendence, a phrase that is meaningless to the average church-goer or minister/priest. Remember that the Bible was written by man, and was edited at different times to suit various men's purposes. Keep that in mind as you read other answers.
