How come Orange Juice expires later than Skim milk? I have always wanted to know why but never asked before.?

My skim milk expires Jan 6. My orange jucie expires Feb 10.

Acids vs Alkaline is the scientific answer in other words citric acid is used as a preservative in things. (natural)
Milk is alkaline.

Citric acid is used as a natural preservative. It's also a cooking agent. Serviche is usually made with lime juice, but you can use any citrus fruit.

Dairy products go sour faster then citrus products.
