Ali certainly was not overrated. In his prime, he could have beat, and did beat most of the fighters. I do agree about Foreman being overrated. He could punch, that's it. In my mind, the most overrated was Leon Spinks. How he beat Ali is still a mystery. Of course, Ali was past his due date at the time.

Mike Tyson. I'll prove it. Name the best fighter that Tyson ever defeated......did the light bulb go on? Names like Trevor Berbick, Razor Ruddock and Michael Spinks don't impress anyone. Frank Bruno? Give me a break! An over the hill Holyfield exposed Tyson for the absolute clown he really was in the ring and everyone he fought since then has done the same.

By far Rocky Marciano. People point to his unbeaten record but the fact is that does not reflect his level of greatness. To me, Walcott would have beaten him in his prime, and don't forget he only won barely.

Ali is overrated by sports fans but not at all by boxing fans. In fact many underrate him. On the night of Cleveland Williams he would have beaten Joe Louis.

Of recent times Joe Mesi was the most overrated by far. He was just horrible and his dicksucking fans were delighted coz now they can say "well i guess we'll never know!!". We DO know. He would have gotten exposed eventually. Too many heavyweights are built up like this.

Sugar Ray Leonard. He was an excellent boxer, but was such a media darling, it was sickening. He won the welterweight title from Wilfred Benitez when the fight was stopped in the 14th round because Benitez had a gash on his forehead. Benitez was not out on his feet and his eyes were not affected by the gash. The first Hearns fight could have been allowed to continue. If Hearns could have survived the fourteenth, he may have made it to the end of the fight and won the decision. Leonard was given a decision over Marvin Hagler for the middleweight title, because he flicked jabs and ran away for twelve rounds. The judges were surprised that Leonard was in such great shape after being retired for a few years. He won the title because he looked better than expected. Finally, with both fighters past their prime, Leonard fought a rematch with Hearns. Hearns beat him easily and the result was a draw. At every turn Leonard was given an edge by the people who ran the sport because he was so marketable.

There have been a lot of them I will give you my all time list of fighters who were no where near the fighter that the media wanted us to be live they were thank God boxing has truth serum in it and it,s called a knock out Mark Breland Bobby Chaz Prince Naceem Jerry Cooney Macho Comacho and number one is Oscar Dela Hoya I know that a lot of you wont like my list but I can back up my list with facts the only one on this list that fought everyone is Oscar but he got a lot of wins that everyone who saw the fights knows he lost most of the close fights I never bought into Oscar a lot of heart and a great will to win but not a great fighter he lost every tough fight he was in all of these fighters were protected and matched with people they should have been able to beat it,s hard for me to say something negative about a fighter but when the truth is the truth it will set you free because I know what it takes to get in there and here is the next fighter who is going to be over rated Jermain Taylor he has gotten a lot of gifts in a lot of close fights and his dose of truth serum is coming up Joe Calzachi

What else ought to be reported? Tyson is extremely overvalued. 2. Aaron Pryor- large fighter, an all-time large, yet no longer the legend maximum make him out to be. Too constrained in his variety to triumph over the extremely large opponents in background. 3. Vitali Klitschko- the main experienced heavyweight in the final decade... and yet nonetheless no longer as good a fighter as non-contenders from the 1960s and 1970s. all of us be attentive to ways dominant he's now, yet throw him in yet another era and he does not even undertaking for the call.

Tyson. He was a puncher not a boxer. The most over rated heavy weight ever was the Schwab he cheats. The most overrated announcer Jim Lampley he is a pompous ***. His ego is bigger than Rosie's head.

To be overrated, you need a whole lot of hype, and the boxing writers loved Pernell Whitaker. He was a great fighter, but the hype put him at a level that he wasn't capable of maintaining. (Plus, he never really got over with many of the regular fans because of his awkward style.)
