The cat is responding to something different about you. I agree that it's like we are adopted parents. Different things we do or say gets a response like a mother cat. When I talk baby talk they all come running. The moma has different calls. They can feel emotions.

Whenever I sing I have 2 cats that come to me. Angel, part himalayan, comes and meows at me and if I don't quit will climb up on my lap and knead me. Another, Mr. Fuzzy, will come to me and meow and do the same thing and try to kiss me. Cats have very sensitive hearing. I think they want us to be quiet or think there is something wrong with us and are trying to help us.

i think of that relies upon on your cat. maximum cats are basically no longer 'lickers'. My first cat of nineteen years never licked me as quickly as, and nor did the different 2 puppy cats he lived with. I presently own 2 Persian cats and my 4 12 months previous woman cat licks people who shes is conscious. She licks me on my face, lots! that could be somewhat gross even nonetheless it makes her somewhat chuffed to do it and seems to be some variety of bonding for her. My new 4 month previous male Persian basically licks you once you're scratching him someplace he likes (his armpits). that is annoying whilst they lick you lots nonetheless, it hurts! That tongue with hooks isn't basically for grooming yet additionally for licking flesh off bones. It does make me sense enjoyed yet now and returned i contemplate whether she basically needs to consume me :p

I think she loves it and joins in. My cat loves it when I sing, he doesn't lick me or anything, but he calms down. If she wanted you to shut up, she would hiss. I think you are lucky.

No, she's responding to you as a kitten responds to its mother. Your singing reminds kitty of mommy, it's simple as that. Momma cat calls to her little ones as she comes to the nest to clean up after them and nurse them. The sound of her soft, high-pitched mews stimulates the kittens to resort to nursing behavior - commonly called rooting, in which they search for mommy's teats. Watch a litter of kittens and their mother - the simple beauty of it can charm the hardest heart.
When cats became domesticated, one thing they gave up was the natural animal caution around humans - they no longer behaved like normal wild creatures and began accepting humans as their mothers for life. So, the pitch/timbre of your singing voice is just close enough to mommy cat's calls to her kittens that your cat is stimulated to act out this loving response - and may continue to do so for years. I've seen a 25-year-old cat respond to her elderly human owner in just this fashion. Hey - just enjoy your kitty!
