FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access)
1. If channel not in use, sits idle.
2. Channel bandwidth relatively narrow (30kHz).
3. Simplest.
4. Best suited for analog links.
TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access)
1. Only one user allowed to to either transmit or receive in a slot.
2. Slots assigned cyclically.
3. Non - continuous transmission.
CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)
1. All users use same frequency and many transmit simultaneously.
2. Each user has its own pseudo code word.
3. Receivers detect only the desired codeword. All other appears as noise.
4. Receiver's must know the transmitter's code word.

Frequency division multiple access; Time division multiple access, code division multiple access. I would suggest a good book on communications. It would be too difficult to do them justice here especially CDMA
