I know of someone who adopted from China. She was single. It took her FOREVER, a ton of money, a lot of heartache and frusteration. But she did it, and said it was well worth it!

Sometimes people make general rules based on the welfare of the subjects. In actuality, there are not many people who are single and financially stable, let alone mentally and socailly stable. When they make these types of rules, they anticiapte that the kids will recieve the best care in a two parent home. But you and i both know and have heard of all the stories with the abusive foster parents. but, there are also alot or orphans and children in need of adoption in your local community. have you ever considered local adoption. Don't be discouraged because you can't help in one way. Be effective and make changed in the life of a child right here. not to mention i am sure there is an asian child here in the USA at a home. Consider doing some more research.

No fairer than the fact that in China they had to make a law the doesn't allow the doctors to tell the patients the sex of their children...because they abort the baby girls on a regular basis. China has a very large set of values that they stick to that the rest of the world finds a little archaic. Try another country. There are children everywhere who need to be loved.

It is fair in the sense that the Chinese authorities want to give these children the best possible life, and they see that as being a mother and a father.
