be yourself, have a nice conversation, look like you are interested in all she has to say and make sure you ask open questions so she can get to know you.
From experiences I have had with men who are shy always let her know that you are shy because if you can not string a sentence together, women will think you are just a bumbling idiot.
we are happy when a man compliments us or just says hello how are you today... just be a nice person.

the old ways are aways good ask her out for a drink with the new year just around the corner nows the perfect time. or you could send her flowers anonymously with a note saying how much you like her. or the new way you could send her a e-mail or e- card its up to you good luck

You have to observe her personality,
if she is the shy and reserved type perhaps you can declare you love to her in a more subtle way and in a discreet place..
if she is the out spoken and bold one, just go on your knees and declare you love for her in the middle of the mall... she will love your bravado....
