I have a master's degree and have applied to every job that the Cpol site has to offer. I really need a way to earn money. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone pretty much has suggested a Home Based Business. Fine and all, BUT you must get authorization from your DH's Command. You can't use your CMR Address for the shipping address....plus so many other Regulations. You just have to wait til you get over here and do Research.

You should try and contact some colleges either there, or in the states. You could teach college classes. I would start with colleges from the state you are from, and go from there. I have friends who do this, and are only required to correspond with the students and schools via email or phone.

Seriously, did Jim suggest being a grocery checker or waitress? You have your masters degree! Also, do you really want to host parties and try and sell stuff to people who don't have that much money either? I would also check into the base colleges and see how they hire their teachers. Also, have you check to see if the base offers any services with helping you find a job?

Dependant upon what your degree is in, why don't you see what jobs are available at the consulate or embassy? Other than that, the only alternative you probably have is to take a course or two in German, teach english, or get a civilian job, preferably with a company that has ties here in the US. That way you can have a small chance at transfer within the same company once you PCS back to CONUS.

Good luck, and god bless the military spouses out there..

Dont listen to savageson. He's a tool. The home business is probably your best bet, although im sure the commisary or any other aafes job would be an option, with your masters degree it would probably feel like a step backwards. A friend of mines wife does the pampered chef and makes good money, i would look to that.

Try for a U.S. civil service job available to spouses of military. There is also Non-appropriated funds jobs like Commissary Checkers and servers in the Officers and NCO clubs. You may also want to look in your local community near the base for any opportunities for military spouses.
