For example, Lew Wallace, a famous general and literary genius, was a known atheist. For two years, Wallace studied in the leading libraries of Europe and America, seeking information that would forever destroy Christianity. While writing the second chapter of a book outlining his arguments, he suddenly found himself on his knees crying out to Jesus, "My Lord and my God."
When confronted by solid indisputable evidence, he could no longer deny that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. Later, Lew Wallace wrote the book Ben Hur, one of the greatest English novels ever written concerning the time of Christ.

Quote:
“After six years given to the impartial investigation of Christianity as to its truth or falsity, I have come to the deliberate conclusion that Jesus Christ was the Messiah of the Jews, the Savior of the world and my own personal Redeemer.”

If and whilst an atheist converts to Christianity, they're now no longer an atheist. Romans 10:9-10 because of the fact, in case you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and have faith on your coronary heart that God raised him from the lifeless, you would be saved. (10) For with the middle one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 2 Corinthians 5:17 as a result, if anybody is in Christ, he's a sparkling introduction. The previous has surpassed directly to the entire beyond; behold, the recent has come. John 3:sixteen-18 "For God so enjoyed the international, that he gave his basically Son, that whoever believes in him shouldn't perish yet have eternal existence. (17) For God did no longer deliver his Son into the international to sentence the international, yet basically so the international could be saved via him. (18) Whoever believes in him isn't condemned, yet whoever would not have faith is condemned already, because of the fact he has no longer believed in the call of the only Son of God. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal existence; whoever would not obey the Son shall no longer see existence, however the wrath of God remains on him.

Busted!
This is just another example of Pious Fraud. Lew Wallace NEVER converted to christianity and in fact denounced it to the day he died.
This is like the story told about Darwin. Lady Hope LIED about his "recanting and conversion" on his death bed.
Lady Hope hadn't even seen Darwin for two years prior to his death and in fact hadn't spoken more than ten words to him at a London party.
Try try again little liar, we'll be here to expose your fraudulent claims...

CS Lewis. Besides the Chronicles, he's written some excellent books about his faith, including "Mere Christianity."

there are plenty of cases, a lot of people sort of freak out and become religious, and not necessarily Christian, Buddha and Krishna are more successful, but of course, the flow is in the other direction, but people who lose their faith are usually quiet about it.

There are a few, but it is usually the other way.
And Charles Darwin isn't one. The whole Lady Hope story was made up. It is just a lie that Christians figure if they repeat enough it will be true. Google it and you will find out that it isn't true.

I know of two, both friends of mine, who cried out to God from their death beds.
I don't believe that this act made them Christians, though I hope I am wrong about that.

He was probably just an atheist because he was born and raised in a non-religious household. Confronted with the "evidence" he was easily convinced. That is usually the case......
