Ham can be baked after boiling with a glaze to add flavor or it can be cooked whole in a oven at 350ºF/175ºC/Gas 4 for 10 minutes a pound, 20 mins per Kilo. Baste regularly. Test by piercing to check it is tender or 170ºF/75ºC with thermometer

The absolutely BEST WAY if you want it to be juicy is, cook it very slowly COVERED in a 250 oven for about 10 HOURS for a ham joint of 7 pounds. I baked some on Thursday and they came out perfectly.. It's she slow cooking that brings out the flavor and doesn't dry them out. 10 to 12 hours would be about perfect in your case.

Don't need to boil it first! If it is really salty, then soak it in cold water over night, then pat it dry with kitchen roll and cook as normal. It takes 30 minutes per kilo, plus an extra 20 mins.
