I believe it happens usually in the undeveloped countries who haven't got much security or order. But, A Military Coup to my knowledge is when a small military force tries to over-run the current government in order to gain control of the country or a small portion of it. Either that or they're trying to prove a point in order to get someone who was exiled from the government in the first place back in or just to prove that the current government is very much disliked throughout the country. I think an example was a few years ago, in Thailand? I'm not exactly sure but A Military Coup kidnapped and siezed control of the government in that country.

No military coup in UK. Before any such could even begin to happen the UK-gov would start sacking senior military personnel it did not trust. The UK-gov would be ruthless in this regard, even sacking the innocent. None of these people would collect a pension since all have sworn allegiance to the Monarch and her successors and her government. There is no cop-out. In legal terms any senior officer or corps of officers planning a coup, would in effect be classified as traitors.

And who is to say that you aren't a Government agent trying to recruit prisoners before the coup starts?
You gotta remember. Technology has changed since the other peasant uprisings. They can literally take out a few hundred foot soldiers with one little remote control robot nowdays. Its gonna take some real strategy to pull it off. But hey, Washington challenged the strongest army of his day and won by sheer strategy. Nothing says it can't be done. Just remember the cost if you lose...(Timothy McVeigh, David Koresch and many others)

I would dearly love to get rid of this government but I doubt this country has the forces personnel based in the UK to overthrow the government. Also, what happens after the 10 years are up? Would a military government be prepared to give up power after that amount of time in government? As Tony Blair has demonstrated, once he got power he is damned if he is going to easily give it up.

I am. But I would need to be incredibly high ranking and as long as I don't have to wear lesbian shoes and unnatural fibres then I will be with you.
I qualify to be high ranking as I'm unbeatable at Risk and quite often conquer the world.
