My work space doesn't have any information regarding my immigration / citizenship status. If the feds want to extent their authority to enforce immigration law to local jurisdictions, including asking the employer for I-9's for every employee, then let them. My employer ultimately has the right to refuse entry without a search warrant. That would include my work space but not my personal property, i.e. my car parked in the company parking lot or my wallet in my pocket. If they want to search those they will have to get a warrant because I'm not cooperating with random searches.

I have no problem with that, although it does sound a little like police state actions.I own a business and my husband owns several, but we do our own verification thru the government already. We do not, will not hire any illegal aliens to preform any employment for us,under any circumstances.I would voluntarily carry an American ID card/proof with me, as I do my other ID if that would help this problem to become easier for this nation.to police and or prevent.

If the States had enough balls to do it, come on down ! That is a great first step in stemming the tied of illegal immigration. Dry up the jobs and the problem goes away.

People who are legally here wouldn't be bothered by that. It might disrupt the work day a little but other than that its fine.
