They are the same religion. The name of the Church is, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints." Mormon is kind of a nickname for those who are LDS.

Not really. Mormon is a nickname given to LDS members because of our belief in the Book of Mormon. Basically it's just another name.

No, they refer to themselves as latter day saints and their Church as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" Non-Mormons use the word Morman. No difference.
