depending on the complaints the patients are sent to the respective departments- certain complaints are realted to particular depts, and those patients are sent to respective depts

for example
medical patient complaints of cough, fever, abdominal pain, urinary complaints, weakness, paralysisetc

surgical patients comes with complaints of any lump or mass anywhere

paediatric patient is a child

Gyn-Obs patient is a female patient with menstrual problems, pregnant females

Medical patient: one who does not need any surgical intervention upon admission (probably suffering from hypertension, stomach upset, unexplained headaches, asthma, etc). Surgical:self explanatory. Pediatric:child up to age 17 or 18 depending on the cut off age used in the hospital. Ob-gyne: one giving birth or one with problems related to the female reproductive system.
