the only card I know u could do that with possibly, is a prepaid visa card. they charge for them though. The best thing would be travelers checks. some banks give it free to their customers & can be used anywhere.

I understand how you would think giving money is tacky, but honestly, it's not.

I dislike gift cards and would rather have the money! That way I can go anywhere I want to buy what I need or want, without pressure.

Buy a nice card and write a thoughtful message inside, and then slip the money inside the card.

I love to read and people have given me gift cards to book stores, but normally there are time limits on gift cards, and then I'm forced to buy books just to use the card.
If I had the money as a gift, I could wait until one of my favorite authors releases a new book and then buy it!

I'm a hard to person to buy for, but trust me, money is always appreciated!

I'm not aware of any gift cards that you can return to the store for a full refund. If they started doing that, it would defeat the whole purpose of a gift card. If you want the person to have the cash, then you're just going to have to settle for "a little tacky".

I encourage you not to go into debt for Christmas gifts.

You can buy gift cards that work like a Visa or Mastercard. So you can give her the card, but she can use it like money.

You can get a gift card for the mall. that would give them more places to shop. they would be able to use the card in any of the stores in the mall .

If you wanted to buy a cashier's check would work that way. They could cash it or buy anything within the amount.
