I had never really thought about it before and I'm not sure that it's true, although I remember a very handsome surgeon at Halifax. I can't remember seeing a really handsome physician. The more intelligence and steadiness, the finer the features? The ones who became cosmetic surgeons practiced on one another in med school? Lots of money is required to become a surgeon, rich families usually produce better looking offspring--not all the time though.

Surgeons have to be in a better shape (they have to spend long hours standing), so most of them watch their weight and regularly exercise...
