I agree....
There are a lot of Muslim that misunderstand the conecpt of Jihad. And they lack the true understanding and principles of Tawheed-Aqeedah. They don't understand the fiqh. When they are taught something, they just go by it, When really you should do the research to get the information confirmed, if it's authentic or weak-this applies to Hadiths. Also with the Qur'aanic verses. You should use the most appropriate translation. Which is by Muhsin Khan.http://searchtruth.com/chapter_display.php?chapter=1&translator=5&mac=
Other translations are dodgey with errors, especially Yusuf Ali's translation. Also for Hadith, I use Muhsin Khans translation. And I'm not sure which translation is this, but it seems authentic.
http://searchtruth.com/searchHadith.php
Also it's the media which is another big problem. As others have mentioned they brainwash everyone!
That's why you get the suicide bombers. Which is against Islaam. I've been called a terrorist by strangers. Why? Those group of Muslims who misunderstoof Jihad, and blew themselves up along of others, gave the whole Muslim nation a bad reputation. And it's the people that do not understand that this is not part of Islaam. The ignorant people, think this is what Islaam teaches. Which is false.
Jihad, often mistranslated as ‘Holy War’ (a popular phrase from the Crusades), actually means: to strive and endeavour in Allaah’s cause. Hence, jihad can be expressed in a purely peaceful way. The Prophet Muhammad had said that:
“The best jihad is by one who strives against (the evil of) his own self for Allaah, the Might and Majestic.’ (at-Tabarani)
Allaah has said:
“So obey no the disbelievers, but make a great jihad against them (by preaching) with this (Qur’aan). (Qur’aan 25:52)
As for suicide bombing, it is forbidden on a number of levels. Firstly, on the crime of suicide itself, the Prophet once warned: Indeed, whoever kills himself will certainly be punished in Hellfire, where he shall dwell in forever.’ (Bukhari & Muslim)
“And do not kill yourselves. Surely Allaah is Most Merciful unto you.” (Qur’aan 4:29)
Suicide attacks also contravene the Islamic principle which states: that which is built upon falsehood itself is falsehood. In other words, the ends cannot justify the means if those means (e.g. self-destruction) are themselves anti-Islamic. Furthermore, suicide attacks almost always result in collective punishments for the wider civilian populous, contravening yet another Islamic principle: fighting evil itself becomes evil if, as a consequence, it leads to more harm.
“And beware the affliction which affects not in particular those of you who do wrong (but may harm innocents as well): And know that Allaah is strict in punishment. (Qur’aan 8:25)
There is more to it, here is the full file for you to download and read, http://rapidshare.com/files/6956517/Jihad__Suicide_and_Terrorism.pdf.html
There are 72 different sects of Muslims. All of them will go to hell, except one. And that sect is the one who follows the Messenger of Allaah, and his Companions- Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jamaa'.
The different sects have invented things into the religion, or have neglected certains things, this is what makes them leaf astray.

Well i am a Muslim too and i have to say truly i have never met a Muslim in my life yet that does not know what Islam is really about. All the Muslims i know are peaceful God fearing people who live there lives quietly, raise there children, go to work and really just live normal lives that in no way are radical. Of course I'm not saying that there are no ignorant ones who dont know there faith but in my life in my country i have not witnessed it. I went to Tunisia and saw people smoking everywhere and was flabbergasted i though dont they know something as simple as smoking is against the religion. Of course they do but they smoke anyway. There are extremist we all know that but i for one know the true Islam and know the true Muslims and Allah does too. He know our hearts and at the end of the day we are all responsible for our own selves. Less than 1% of the Muslim community are extremist and if the world wants to tar us all with the same brush let them. My only concern is Allah judgment not some 18 year old boy from Texas who has no idea about what the real Islam is and what its really like in Muslim countries, they are happy to believe the media BS let them. You will never change people who are ignorant, there opinion will always be a negative one whether its a true one or not. No i dont think Muslims are the problem.

As a Muslim, I believe that yes, Muslims nowadays ought to fathom the true meaning of Islam, its teachings and its history. It's not the religion, it's the people who go to the extreme in practising the religion are the problem. After all, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did call Muslims to seek the way of the middle, not too much and not too little - Moderation. A true Muslim is a jihadist and yet a pacifist. Why not? The Prophet is a perfect example. What more, different circumstances call for different measures and Islam does provide the answers and solutions to all of them. Understanding the holy Scripture is the key, not extremism or fanaticism. May my Muslim brothers and sisters be able to understand the intrinsic values of Islam - peace, tolerance and acceptance, and the world learn to accept Muslims as Muslims learn to accept the world for the past 1400 years.
Peace, wassalam.

May I ask you what is your opinion on the sacrifice of so many thousands of innocent muslims during the Gulf War, the attack on Afghanistan, Lubnan, Palestine, Iraq and Iran. I am wondering since you are a muslim, can't you see some evil power is trying to wipe out muslims with all sort of excuses. And yet people around the world are putting the blame on muslims as terrorists, but what name should they call the king of all evil who had started the war with muslims. Are you blind or cold blooded.

I do not think that the cause of extremism in Islam is due to Muslims being ignorant of Islam. It is due to their inappropriate interpretation of the Koran and the Hadiths. It is also due to the many schisms between Muslims as with Christianity in the Middle Ages. I believe and see with my own eyes Muslim children being educated and reared in the right path, that is, the path of Islam and PEACE by true Muslim parents. These children would no more think of going out and terrorizing people of other faiths than you or I would. However, the extreme hate groups of Islamists do in fact indoctrinate their children and this is of global concern as these people no more care for their lives or their children's and anticipate only the reward of arriving in heaven as a martyr. I often think that this may very well be the core cause of fanaticism; to become a martyr and get the highest reward in heaven, plus of course, the hate of all things not exactly like them.

This is an unethical question.
Although I am not a Muslim and my forefathers were uprooted from their motherland by the Muslims, I should never make such generalize statement.
May be the leaders of the most notorious terrorist groups are Muslim. May be most of their activist are Muslim. But all Muslims are not bad. Total number of good Muslims are much more than total bad (!) Muslims.
Most of the weapons are invented in America. Most of the weapons are marketed by America.
Should I ask the question "Do Americans agree that most of the worlds terrorism are fueled by America?"

But don't you agree, that something went wrong with Islam that makes this change if any? how about most of those radicals they cite things in Quran and Sunnah, Sahaba and old grand imams and religious clerics. right?
You as a muslim, what you should do to stop this ignorance and to show peace and make your brother and sister muslims more aware of the peaceful version?

Yes, I agree with this completely. Many people are Muslim in name only, not in their faith. Even in Muslim countries you will see people who do not understand the Qur'an and it's most basic teachings.

I agree - the relatively few Muslim fanatics that attracted media attention have deliberatly twisted a peaceful religion into a violent one for their own interests. May Allah watallah Judge their souls accordingly.
