some japanese guy was reported recently to have survived for three weeks without food or water in a sort of version of human hibernation;this occurred in conditions of extreme cold which slowed down the rate of metabolism and reduced therefore the need for food and drink;so what he did is no more than an extended form of sleep to an extent that we still don't understand or can reproduce;but bears can do it so other mammals should theoretically be able to do it

That would be physically impossible.

Depending on the amount of fat you have on your body, and your age, you can live for as long as 2-6 weeks without any food at all, as long as you have enough water to drink. A human body would die if it didn't have any water in about 3 days, so it is more important to drink than to eat. If you are skinny, you would not live as long as a fatter person. The body will convert fat and muscle to calories if it can't get fuel any other way.

absolutely impossible. If he hqad stuck to no food for that time it might have been a little more acceptable but you cannot live without water--- like it or not your body exhales water and sweats water and it cannot survive more than a few days without it. simple biology. as we are over 90 percant water ourselves we would just shrivel up and blow away as it evaporated. we would dry out like washing on the line.why would a sensible person who understands computers and modern technology want to believe such nonsense
and anyway what is meditating is it deep thought --and if so what was he supposed to be thinking about

that cant be possible because even sitting perfectly still wastes energy and without new sources of energy he would have run out in a number of days. Unless of course he is a plant living off sunlight!
