the bible says in luke that jesus was born in 6ad according to quinerrious. and then it says he was born when herod reigned which is commonly taught was about 4 bc or some even say 8 bc.
If the bible cannot be perfect in its testimonies, was it corrupted? than how can it be perfect if the nativity of the gospels cant agree?

clearly scholarship and higher education cannot agree on anything, it is an abomination to me. Im sure it is with God also that religions of the world cannot agree on anything, therefore the sheeves are gathered together and shall be burned in the oven. IF peace cannot be obtained, then all will be destroyed.

Was Jesus Born in December?
The Bible does not tell us when Jesus was born. However, it does give us sound reason to conclude that his birth did not take place in December.
Consider the weather conditions at that time of the year in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. The Jewish month of Chislev (corresponding to November/December) was a month with cold and rainy weather. The month after that was Tebeth (December/January). It saw the lowest temperatures of the year, with occasional snows in the highlands. Let us see what the Bible tells us about the climate of that region.
The Bible writer Ezra shows that Chislev was indeed a month known for cold and rainy weather. After stating that a crowd had gathered in Jerusalem "in the ninth month [Chislev] on the twentieth day of the month," Ezra reports that people were "shivering...on account of the showers of rain." Concerning weather conditions at that time of the year, the congregated people themselves said: "It is the season of showers of rain, and it is not possible to stand outside." (Ezra 10:9, 13; Jeremiah 36:22) No wonder shepherds living in that part of the world made sure that they and their flocks were no longer out of doors at night when December came around!
The Bible reports, however, that shepherds were in the fields tending their flocks on the night of Jesus' birth. In fact, the Bible writer Luke shows that at the time, shepherds were "living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks" near Bethlehem. (Luke 2:8-12) Notice that the shepherds were actually living out doors, not just strolling outside during the day. They had their fields at night. Does that description of outdoor living fit the chilly and rainy weather conditions of Bethlehem in December? No, it does not. So the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth indicate that he was not born in December.*
*For more information, see pages 176-9 of Reasoning From the Scriptures, published by Jehovah's Witnesses.
God's word tells us precisely when Jesus died, but it gives little direct indication as to when he was born. This brings to mind King Solomon's words: "A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born." (Ecclesiastes 7:1) It is not surprising, then, that the Bible provides many details about Jesus' ministry and death but few details about the time of his Birth.

Interesting comment,

The bible does not always give the exact date. Not like it did with the year 1914 which fulfilled the book of Daniel prophecy nor the time it called King Cyrus by his name about 200 yrs before he was born. so,
We do know that because King Herod killed male children give or take 2-4 yrs old, that is the suspected time Jesus would have been born.

What is more important is that prophets foretold by inspiration, the events leading up to his birth came true with exact accuracy.

Also the nativity was a great miracle, but according to Jesus himself he told his followers to celebrate his death not his birth. It is his death that freed us not his birth.

Ah .... your eyes are opening slightly. Shield them, it only gets brighter as you go along.

Okay, first you get Constantine, who sifted through the scriptures and decided which people should see and which they shouldn't, discarding more than SIX HUNDRED texts. If the scriptures were so vital and important, then you should have been entitled to see ALL of them, correct? Well, Constantine didn't believe so. The ones that didn't coincide with the message HE wanted to deliver did not get included.

Next, you have mistranslations all through history with the bible constantly being translated from one language to another, often misinterpreted by the translator along the way.

Then, you get all of the obvious errors in the bible ... such as bats being insects, the existence of unicorns, etc.

Now we move on to contradictions .. such as the one you pointed out, but there are THOUSANDS more. There are websites designed specifically for the contradictions, to point them all out. Search google, you'll find some interesting reads. Just type "bible contradictions". Or check out the website for Skeptics Annotated Bible.

The bible is, to be put simply, the worlds best selling fiction novel. Written by man, fallable and filled to the brim with mistakes, misconceptions, errors and general screw ups.

A good read, but don't put any more faith in it than you would Green Eggs & Ham. Actually, Dr. Seuss made more sense. At least he didn't purposely contradict himself on every other page.

This is taken directly from a Bible encyclopedia with all citations from God's word the Bible.

“Jesus evidently was born in the month of Ethanim (September-October) of the year 2 B.C.E., (B.C.E. – Before Our Common Era) was baptized about the same time of the year in 29 C.E., and died about 3:00 p.m. on Friday, the 14th day of the spring month of Nisan (March-April), 33 C.E. The basis for these dates is as follows:

Jesus was born approximately six months after the birth of his relative John (the Baptizer), during the rule of Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus (31 B.C.E.–14 C.E.) and the Syrian governorship of Quirinius and toward the close of the reign of Herod the Great over Judea.—Mt 2:1, 13, 20-22; Lu 1:24-31, 36; 2:1, 2, 7.

While the date of Herod’s death is a debated one, there is considerable evidence pointing to 1 B.C.E. A number of events intervened between the time of Jesus’ birth and Herod’s death. These included Jesus’ circumcision on the eighth day (Lu 2:21); his being brought to the temple in Jerusalem 40 days after birth (Lu 2:22, 23; Le 12:1-4, 8); the journey of the astrologers “from eastern parts” to Bethlehem (where Jesus was no longer in a manger but in a house—Mt 2:1-11; compare Lu 2:7, 15, 16); Joseph and Mary’s flight to Egypt with the young child (Mt 2:13-15); followed by Herod’s realization that the astrologers had not followed his instructions, and the subsequent slaughter of all boys in Bethlehem and its districts under the age of two years (indicating that Jesus was not then a newborn infant). (Mt 2:16-18) Jesus’ birth taking place in the fall of 2 B.C.E. would allow for the time required by these events intervening between his birth and the death of Herod, likely in 1 B.C.E. There is, however, added reason for placing Jesus’ birth in 2 B.C.E.

Further basis for the dates given at the start of this section is found at Luke 3:1-3, which shows that John the Baptizer began his preaching and baptizing in “the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar.” That 15th year ran from the latter half of 28 C.E. to August or September of 29 C.E. At some point in John’s ministry, Jesus went to him and was baptized. When Jesus thereafter commenced his own ministry he was “about thirty years old.” (Lu 3:21-23) At the age of 30, the age at which David became king, Jesus would no longer be subject to human parents.—2Sa 5:4, 5; compare Lu 2:51.

On this basis, John’s birth occurred 30 years before he began his ministry in Tiberius’ 15th year, hence somewhere between the latter half of 3 B.C.E. and August or September of 2 B.C.E., with Jesus’ birth following about six months later.”

There’s more evidence which deals with the length of Jesus’ ministry and time of death – the prophecy at Daniel 9:24-27. But this post is already too long.

I HAVE MY OWN BIBLE TIME LINE AND HEROD WORLD HISTORY INFORMATION

I can not find any history that I can believe in, so I go strictly by the bible.
I can not go by a bible time line as every one has it different. As the first person who answered.
The big question in my mind always is, when did the bible time end? I TRY MY BEST TO FIGURE THIS OUT.
Some have it as first person who answered.
Some have it 4004, but when I get here, this is when Rome Empire #6, is over Judah.
Some have it 4025.
Some have ot 4026.
Some have it 4049.
Every time I figure it, no matter how I do it and I am careful, it is 4066 and Jesus is headed for Egypt as age 2 years old, with his parents, he is back before age 12.
All say he was crucified in year 33, if so he was age 35.

For someone whose life made such an impact on future generations, there is surprisingly little actualy known about him. Apart from the bible, there is little if any credible evidence of his existence.

They can't even get the dates right. You would think that the dates of his birth and death at least would be known, after all, they KNEW he was the messiah

Please give chapter and verse when quoting the bible. I couldn't find anywhere in the entire bible where it gives the date when Jesus was born.
I am a Sunday School Superintendent and I have read the bible from Genesis to Revelation several times and don't understand what you are talking about.
