If that is why you joined my Beloved Corps, I pity the fellow sharing your foxhole. You could have bought one on Ebay or your local Surplus Store...to Wow your friends.
My Uncle joined ( 1943) to rid the world of Japs and make them pay for Pearl Harbour. My othe Uncle joined( 1955) to save the South Koreans from the Commies in the north. I joined (1967)to preserve Democracy and free the Vietnamese from the Commies. My son joined ( 1991) to remove the Iraqi Dogs from Kuwait and free them.
We all joined to preserve Democracy, Freedoms, Home, and Apple Pie. We joine the Marines, because it is America's premier fighting force. To think you joined for the kool uniform makes me utterly sick.
The Canadian Mounted Police have a Kool Uniform too....so do the Camp Fire Girls.

There is no way I would ever dream, hope, or want to be a Jar Head. Hell, it would be a waste of time for anyone with an asvab score over 60 to even think of joining the Marines. They are not even a real branch of the military they are part of the department of the Navy. Marines Stands For My A ss Rides In Navy Equipment Sir

I got interested because of their uniforms, at first I had no idea what the Marines did. That uniform sure does look good though and I am glad I joined. They payed for college!

I almost joined the Marines because of the "Uniform". I didn't. And joined the Army which gave me $15,000 more for college than the Marines did, so I felt it would be more pratical going where the money was vs looks of a certain uniform. After all we are all equal serving our country.
And to this date, no regrets

I joined because they were the hardest armed forces boot camp. I always heard horror stories from Marine bootcamp. I also joined the Marines because if i go to battle i want to know how to fight and eliminate those that are trying to kill my brothers.

I'm not sure why any of them joined, but when I meet a marine or an ex-marine, my heart skips a beat. I am truely greatful for them. When I see a vehicle with a Semper Fi sticker, I say a prayer for them and thank God for them.
I love the men and women in the military. I greatly admire them for their sacrifice & courage.

HAHA, I wanted to join for the same reason when I was 17. You do realize that's a recruiting tool, right?
