Eden Camp in North Yorkshire has been preserved and has many Nissan huts depicting the war along with a couple of huts dedicated to the Italian POW's that were held there during and after the War. Many of these prisoners never went home through choice and have lived in the UK ever since, obvioulsy 1 side used the Geneva Convention.

When I was a schoolboy, Iremember seeing German and Italian POWs every school day when the guards would be taking them out to work on Army lorries. We all used to jeer at them as they went past. The camp they came from was the heath camp in cardiff. All that is left of the camp now is the guardroom.
