Most of the OTC (over the counter) products for acne don't work - or work only for a short time.
The best (but not the easiest) thing to do is to adapt healthier habits. You know, eat healthier, exercise, manage stress levels etc. These should work for mild to moderate acne. If you have severe acne then you need to detox your body to get rid of it. That's the only thing that worked for me. Well, Accutane worked also, but my acne came back after 6 months. Besides Accutane has some nasty side-effects.
Try eating more fruits and vegetables. Avoid sugars, refined flours (like white bread and pastries) and dairy products.
Drinking lemon water may also help. Squeeze some lemon on water or soda and have 2 to 3 glasses a day.
Those keep me clear.

Wrap a clean tissue around an ice cube and hold it on top the pimple to reduce swelling and redness. Wash your face twice a day and treat pimples with pimple cream containing Benzyl Salicylate. Drink lots of water and exercise to sweat out for a healthy complexion

No pal not worth it....i'm suffering from acne for the past 3-4 yrs...nothing can get rid of it....the prescription medicines or creams only suppress it.....
Forget about Over The Counter products such as neutrogena....work only for very mild acne......
You have to use something like Adaplene(Differin) or Tretinoin(Retin-A) topical every night.....after 2 months all pimples will be gone....but you have to keep using then....otherwise they will come back
Avoid washing your face more than 2 times a day and never scrub of exfoilate....try to keep your face dry as possible.....

pimples and acne are not related to hygiene and if you go to see a doctor you will find out that there is a specific treatment for acne these days. creams and lotions have been proven expensive and useless the only way to clear it is from the inside. I dont know what these drugs are only that they are available on prescription

i have to say that Pro-Active does work .. have you tried using it?
Wash my face twice a day (morning & night)
Drink plenty of water & eat nutricious meals & lots of veggies
sorry cant offer more ...
if you want to conceal the redness on your face around the pimples .. try using a green concealer .. as green tones down the red
yellow concealer tones down the black under the eyes
