Well, make sure you are drinking plenty of water, taking oil supplements (like fish oil or evening primrose) and try to cut down on sugar. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Before bed, and after every shower while your skin is still damp. If these don't help, try washing with Keri bath oil instead of soap or bodywash (but be very very careful as this makes the tub/shower floor super slippery!). This trick works like a CHARM.

Some helpful tips for dealing with dry skin:
1. Drink one and half liter of water every day to retain the hydration rate of your skin cells. Also, it benefits your overall health.
2. Maximize the effects of hydration by adding the essential oil, angelica, to your day and night creams.
3. Make sure to abandon water-based cleansers.
4. Try iris flower, as it is excellent for retaining moisture in the skin.
5. Always opt for creams with ceramides.
6. Eat a balanced diet including fresh fruits and vegetables.
7. Stay away from soft drinks, sugar and other junk foods.
Homemade solutions for dry, flaky skin:
1. Place a sprinkling of sugar in your palm and dampen with water. Gently massage on the flaky areas. Rinse.
2. Rub half of an apple on skin to help even out the texture.

Stop washing your face with cleaners and just rinse well with water. Apply moisturizer . You stop cleansing because cleansing washes away the oil that makes pimples. Since you have dry skin you don't need it for now. Always apply moisturizer with sunscreen in the daytime to prevent skin cancer and getting brunt
Hopefully this has helped if not then sorry
Good luck!!!

Oh the woes of dry skin. I seem to have it worse in the winter. I take very hot showers and that is part of the problem. After showering I use a lot of non sented lotion. I also tried this new stuff called Butt Paste. Don't laugh its for real. It's mainly used for baby's diaper rash but works for dry itchy shin too. My cousin turned me on to it. She saw it on Oprah. It worked pretty good. I drink a lot of water and still get dry itchy skin so I don't think it's caused from dehydration. God luck

Warm a little ''till'' or sesame oil and apply to your body and face and rub well into yr skin , before having a bath.
Do not use hot water as it robs/strips yr skin of moisture & oil. [hence skin becomes dry].
Instead, use warm water for bathing.
After the bath, apply some good moisturiser.

Drink plenty of water with honey and lemon.
Eat plenty of Green vegetables and fruits (Esp. Papaya).
Avoid use of soap.
Mix a spoon of curd and honey and then massage for 10 min or so and then wash it off with luke warm water.
Every night before you go to bed, drink a glass of lukewarm water. Wash skin and then gently massage with Almond Oil or Olive oil. Leave it like that.
Intake of a pomegranate everyday is best for any skin type.
Do not avoid total intake of butter/ghee or oil. Adequate intake helps in internal lubrication of skin.

People having too much heat in the body generally have dry skin in winter. Change your food habit to satvik food. Use some lotions like vaseline milky lotion on the dry skin. It is non greasy and gives good protection in the winter.
