Tom Tom one Uk and republic of ireland are any good, i was going to get one from argos today, please let me know, i will appreciate any feedback on them.. hope you all had a good christmas x

Don't know about the 0ne but we have a Tom Tom 910 and it is excellent - we bought it in the States and take it on holiday when we go touring in Europe and it is invaluable
I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but the reason for my reply is that our Tom Tom fell from its mounting and broke when it was less than 1 month olod. We rang up the manufacturers at 1.00pm, they arranged for it to be collected from our address before 5.0pm the same day (4.20pm). We were given a tracking number so we could follow its progress on line. It was taken to the docks the following day and shipped to Holland. It was returned to us in perfect working order within the week - at no charge whatsoever. So at least it is good to know the after sales services in excedllent
A word of warning though - no matter what type of SatNav you go for - remove anything which shows you have one every time you leave your car - we removed the SatNav but left the mounting when we went from our car for 15 minutes. On our return the passenger side window was through and the glove compartment had been emptied - fortunately we had taken the SatNav with us and the police informed us that thieves don't open the doors they just presume that most people leave valuables in glove compartments

Have you tried the tom tom website for info. Argos carry a 16 day money back guarantee on most products if you are not happy with them.

I have a tom tom one bought it in england but it only has great britain and ulster no maps of the republic if they did a package with both I would recommend it

tom-toms are good cos they take sd cards with atlases for all the world that can be bought separate but are expensive my advice shop arond there are load of different ones my sister got a sat-nav for a fraction of the price but is just as good

Don't bother save your money, anyone who needs a sat nav shouldn't be driving, get a good road atlas instead.
