I would have to go with Samsung. Very reliable and easy on the wallet! I would do some research on C|NET.com. That website has saved me from making some bad purchases. Good luck!

If you're talking about Standard DVD players - I highly reccomend the OPPO DV-970HD player. It up-converts standard DVDs to HD resolution (720p or 1080i) - meaning it will make your regular DVDs look fantastic on an HD Television. It also has a USB & Memory Card reader in the front (So you can display digital pictures), and it connects and comes with a 6ft HDMI cable (The player also has the usual A/V outputs inclouding Component, S-Video and Optical digital audio). I picked mine up on Amazon.com for $150 (no tax/shipping), which is a little pricey but remember it comes with an HDMI cable (Even the cheap ones go for between $40-$60).
