there are many more sons and daughters on this planet than mothers and fathers. it would make sense to honor sons and daughters so everyone has there own day to feel special and not just the mothers and fathers

People generally assume that all parents are good and well-meaning parents who go through a lot of hard work raising their kids and do everything they can for them and they feel that parents deserve appreciation for that. Mothers day and Fathers day have become commercialized, companies just want to make money off them nowadays. I think it would be much nicer if people found their own motivation on whatever day of the year to make their parents feel special and appreciated if they feel they deserve that rather than be pressured into it on a specific day regardless of what their parents are like. I think it would be a nice surprise and more meaningful than if doing it when you're "supposed to" do it. In the same way, I think it would be nice for parents to show appreciation of their sons and daughters (adult or children) sometime in the year without it needing to be a specific day that can be commercialized to ruin its real meaning. It would be nicer if people came up with this on their own and when they really meant it. It would be more personal and nicer.

For the people who think everyone should honor their parents: I know about a lot of children whose parents are/were abusive or neglective and I've seen how these kids feel on Mothers day and Fathers day when they are reminded extra much of how they have little to thank their parents for and how different they are from most kids who really do have good homes to go to and parents to really appreciate. Some people even try to make those kids feel guilty for not "doing their part" on those days. It breaks my heart to see those kids and to see how people willingly forget or refuse to believe that not all parents are loving parents who do everything they can for their kids.

nicely, it somewhat isn't any longer a undeniable holiday if it somewhat is all 12 months. yet our mothers and fathers could be honoured all 12 months, daily. yet we've been given to have the specific Father's and mom's Days for something actual specific, over and above the honor we provide them prevalent.

To most parents, every day is kid's day. Parents deserve their own special day to be honored for all the sacrifices and hard work they put into raising their children.
