I am Japanese and teaching the Japanese language in Tokyo since this year.
I am wondering which part is the most difficult to study it except mastering Kana or Kanji.
If you think it is grammar, which grammar part? (like te-form, conditional, causative…)

I'd definitely have to say kanji... but because you already know that's hard... I'd have to say just remembering all the small words, and particles. It's hard to remember what verbs use -ni, which use -de, etc.

As for the katakana- it's not that hard... don't freak about it. ^_^ The hardest part is reading something, and then having fun trying to figure out what that word is in English, or whatever language. :P

For me, listening to a native Japanese speaker is the most difficult part. I have not much difficulty learning the language and speaking it(to myself or to a fellow student of the language), but what I have learnt are the standard Japanese and the tough part comes when I am trying to digest what the Japanese are trying to say when they speak fast and often in slang, informal forms or truncated phrases. I don't live in Japan, and it's difficult for me to practise conversing with a native speaker in daily life scenarios.

Kanji is the devil.

Other than that, I had some trouble with particles: knowing when to use "wa" or "ga," "ni" or "he"... stuff like that. Nowadays, I've got a feel for what's right so I don't mix them up much, but I don't really know the rules for those particles.

Oh, and counting words are a pain: trying to remember when to use hitotsu, ippon, ippiki, ichimai, ikken, etc.

Vocabulary and grammar,
though most people with no knowledge on the chinese language might find kanji difficult.

I think kanji and some grammer, like the forms and honorifics (i don't know if honorifics are grammer, i just think they are hard). also, learning both polite forms, casual forms and informal forms of words. i love japanese, and i think the hard parts just make learning more fun and rewarding once you are fluent
