I am new to the USA. In my country, we don't have sex till we marry. When my friends knew that I am still a virgin (actually they forced me to say it), they said I was a jerk! Is it unusual to be 20 and still be a virgin in the USA?

No, it isn't unusual. Don't listen to these people who called you a jerk. They are not your friends. You have to do what is right in your own heart and live your life with the values and beliefs your parents rasied you with. Hold your head high...you have nothing to be ashamed of!

Not really. Not one to speak myself (lost it when this year, 19. But technically lost it in 3rd grade.) However some people do believe in only having sex after they are married. I'm totally for the notion plus, just a hint to other guys, sex isnt all like the best thing in the world. Not even as a quick gratification thing, or a way to show your love. If you love eachother to know that you are going to be married, then you love eachother enough for sex after the marriage.
It sorta points out what kind of relationship you're in.
But you are not a jerk and there definantly are women who appreciate their husbands being virgin. Men who just think of sex as a casual thing are more likely to get into quick relationships.

it depends on your community... some people (actually most) have sex before getting married....especially in the states....but in other countries, by the time you rech 20, you aint a virgin anymore. youve already have sex. in other countries it may be usual to still be a virgin at your age, but in the states its unusual. but do'nt let that hold you back....so what if they told you that you were a jerk.... virgin or not, you are still the same person....

Definitely yes. In USA if you walk hand in hand with a guy, they say you are a gay. If you walk far from a girl, they say you have some defect. Probably at your age of 20, they may find it to be annoying. Anyway, be as your are, no matter which country you are from or which country you are in. That is the way they live there.

I am a Muslim and also 24 years old, Muslims are not supposed to have sex before marry because by doing that it considered an adultery, but you should understand that in U.S.A they don't really follow a moral path the prevent them from having sex before marry just like many other country, so don't pay attention to such people who say bad things about you not having sex before marry and be proud of what you are committed to.

There's nothing wrong with you. A lot of 20 yr olds in the USA aren't virgins, but that doesn't mean they're having fulfilling relationships or meaningful sex. American society and media glorifies sex, so young people think they have to do it to be "cool".

A "Jerk" means that you are someone who doesn't care about other peoples feelings and do not respect others.
But yea, in the USA girls lose their virginity at 16 and 17 and polls show that girls have more sex partners than men in THEIR AGE GROUP.
That means American women are sl.utty and sleep with the same smaller group of HOT guys.
Then when they get older and are no longer hot they want the guys who they turned down to marry them and have kids and take care of them.
But alot of guys are getting hip to this game and are choosing to stay single OR are sleeping with the younger hotter girls and ignoring the "mature and ready for marriage" former slu.ts.

I understand you. I too am a virgin due to cultural differences but now that I want to lose it, no one is willing. I do not want to settle down with the girl I lose my virginity to, unless she is also a virgin of course. Otherwise it's incompatible. The girl should not be more experienced than the guy. Preferably not less either; just equal.

Not only in USA...but in some most of the European countries too...Though I believe it is not a bad thing...if you feel you want to make that step only after marriage good for you.Don't let yourself influenced by others!I respect you for doing that, it is healthy!!

come to eaurope honey! I'm 21 me and allmost all my freinds are virgin. Here it doesn't matter to be a virgin or sex God. Guys in our class who are 22-25 have admit it.
