I was geared up for going to go fight 4 years ago, but got injured at recruit training because of my ACL ligament. Bummer. I was thinking of re-enlisting, but have a hard time wanting anything but infantry. I feel If you ask me to anything else other than kill people and tear **** up, that id be unhappy. I started thinking what if I had went and I had been in that position those Marines were in.
Would I have done it? Bet your *** I would have. Marines arnt police, the min. they are police they either get charged with murder like whats happening now, or they end up ruining the Corp. If a woman, child, or coward punk male is going to kill you, do you kill them first? Or do you take the chance that they ARNT going to kill you in hte hopes they will be a better person, and die for it. You only live once, and its either you or them. Soldiers are trained to go to war. How can you expect them not to find EVERYONE in a warzone a threat if you dont know the enemy and your life is on the line?

I just think turning marines into police along with the media being there to watch is ruining the corp.

Thoughts?

The media should not degrade the Corps by publishing unconfirmed reports and by dramatizing or sensationalizing issues about Marines.

*sigh* honestly, I try to stay away from **** like this, because it could so EASILY be avoided. I mean, think about it. the ONLY reason why wars are fought and armies needed is because, in essence, leaders have something stuck up their butt about something, or are sick in the head, and refuse to talk things out, admit if they're wrong, and whatnot. And having a volunteer military is just that, something people can do voluntarily. Unless of course the next president puts back the draft (which is, unfortunately VERY possible), then forget it. However, after ALL of THAT LOL I agree with your last question, about finding everyone in a warzone a threat, because it's the only way you'll survive.

Let's not hang those guys before the trial. Of course soldiers must be given a good degree of leeway, but murders do happen, too. That's why we have courts martial, and I'm unwilling to say the trial is unfair before it happens. I'm no more willing to prejudge the JAG than I am the Marine riflemen.

I think the media is ruining the military's reputation. They are cowards and instead of serving and reporting, they are judging from the outside.

The media, the radical democrats, the radical republicans, and the aclu, are all ruining, not only the Corps, but all of our military forces.
