There is so much evidence regarding Jesus, so why do you not believe he existed about 2000 years ago. You were not even there to witness his teachings and miracles. The Romans did cruciify so many people, and some of them were even hung on crosses up side down. So you cannot tell me the Romans did not do that to people, they did, and there is evidence they did. Jesus was also crucified on a cross, what do you guys not get? Tell me, was ceasor a myth, was Herod a myth? It is obvious these men existed, as Herod wanted to kill Jesus as a baby as he heard about a king being born, as he though he was king, as Herod ordered a census at the time. How do you know world was one existed, you were not there, how do you know Hittler existed? It was history right? Same about Jesus and instead of being 60 or so years ago, it was around 2000 years ago. These disiples of Matthew, Mark luke and John(he had more disiples) were eye wittness's to his majesty. These men died for their faith.

Seriously would you die for a lie? I know I would not. Did you know the birth of Jesus and he death and resserection was prophecied about 700-1000 years before he was born. Like I said before you cannot save yourself, as you are a sinner like everbody else. Even is you have told a small lie, you are called a lier, or even if you have stollen even if it is small, that makes you a thief, and if you reject Christ, then on Judgement day, say there is one(there is, and I am only saying that for your sake, not mine) you will stand guilty before God as you have broken his laws, and his laws are far above mans(understatment) If there is a lake of fire, just say right there is burning with brimstone, how will you feel on that day, knowing that God has just handed down you sentence to you and that is to spend eternity buring(body and soul) in a lake burning of brimstone and sulphur, and knowing the smoke of you torment will go up forever. It is appointed for man once to die, then the judgement

Its not obvious that Jesus christ even existed.

Ever heard of the Boy that cried wolf? Well its like that, christian apologetics and leaders have lied through history in an attempt to fabricate evidence that Jesus existed. The conclusion is easy. Even christians knew they had to fabricate the evidence.

There is no evidence that the writers of 'Mathew','Mark','Luke','John' were eye witnesses.
Luke even admits he is not an eye witness.

LK 1:1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

EDIT
to your additional details

This is assuming that A) God even exist, and B) God operates the way "Christians" declare
Where is the evidence that A & B are true?? I will settle for you just proving that B is true

why do some religions believe they are the only truth?

Why do they believe so close-mindedly?

Why can they not accept that there are other ways of believing , other truths?

Every religion relies on the followers to believe in their doctrines based on nothing but faith. There is no hard evidence to prove that Christ was the son of God. No scientific evidence that God exists. No proof that the bible was written as anything more than a history book. It takes a big leap for an educated person to ignore all the hard evidence and believe in the God story. There is nothing to prove that Christians are right aside from their bible and faith in the unknown.

The bible is just a book written by men in an ancient language and translated into english for use today. Remember the game telephone when you were a kid? The phrase would be radically different at the end than the begining. Is it possible that with all the years that have passed and all the reprintings and translations of the original text, that it could be radically different today from when it was written?

You say there is no evidence of Hitler? In modern times there are people who are still living that remember the awful things Hitler did. These people are alive and can tell you first hand. Is there anyone who was alive when Jesus walked the earth? Yes, history tells us the Romans used crosses to punish their criminals. There probably was a man named Jesus who was crucified by the Romans. He probably did teach people how to be good people. But he spoke in riddles and spoke to the people 2000 years ago. His lessons can be applied to today's world but what has taken so long for him to come back and save the world?

The world is bad, but it has been for many many years. You could apply the bible's lessons to any period in time and it would apply. Why do you think a man 2000 years ago would be talking to people today? Isn't it a suspension of beliefs to hear that story and believe it? Rationally thinking, there is no good reason to believe that Jesus was talking about the year 2006 when he spoke about a return to bring justice to the evil doers.

What about those who have done evil all their life, lived to be old and have now died? Why do they get to escape the hell on earth, the rapture? Will those people be brought back to life only to be killed again? Didn't Jesus say that the wages of sin is death? He didn't say that you would die, then be brought back to die again. Why would a loving God make a person suffer like that? Haven't they already been punished having died?

Is it that God is waiting until all the evil people will be born, live to sin , then he will destory them? What about all the children being born everyday? Will God make them suffer because when he destroys the evil doers, they will have no chance to accept Jesus? Or will they be treated the same way he treats the parents? How fair is that? Will there be little Christian children going to heaven who if they had been given a full life to live had become homosexual? or Muslim? or some other religion? Would that be fair to the little Muslim child who would have grown up to accept Jesus? How can it be justified?

What proof is there that Christianity is the way to salvation? None, only faith that it is. I am sorry but I can't believe that Christianity is the only way to find God's love. I am not born again, not catholic and don't consider myself Christian, but God has touched my life many times. I have talked to Him and have received direct answers that could only have come from God, Yet I don't put my faith in fairy tales like heaven and hell. God's love is not biased and does not discriminate. Please talk to Him and He will answer. But don't force your beliefs on someone who has a belief system that doesn't line up with yours. Accept all peoples. God does. The bible is a guide book of stories to give morals and should not be taken literally nor should it be used as a weapon.

You were not there either nimrod. Thankfully we do have the science of archeology and historical analysis.

Caesar and Herod were not myths, we have lots of other documents, coins, engravings on stone etc that support their existence. However, there is no evidence at all that Herod had baby males executed during his reign....that would have been appalling enough, even by Roman standards, for someone to write about it. The Romans never engaged in a "census" of their captive nations...that was just a literary device to get Jesus into Bethlem so that some early xians could link Jesus to the Jewish messiah, in the line of David. (and by the way...which lineage is correct, as the gospel ones are totally different.....and if Jesus really was the son of god, and Joseph wasn't actually his father, then who the hell cares about the David lineage??? ..David was a mythological Jewish king as well, but that's another story)

The ONLY reference to a person called Jesus is in the bible, which is all 'hearsay', 3rd and 4th hand "reports" at best...and more likely completely fabricated. Just because somebody chose to write an adventure story about a guy called Jesus 2000 years ago doesn't make it true (will people in 2000 years think Harry Potter was real???) The gospels were NOT eye witness accounts...they were NOT written by anybody called Matthew Mark Luke or John. They were written generations after his supposed life, based on oral traditional stories that were being told.

Even if he did exist....which is highly doubtful....that doesn't mean he was a deity, or a son of a deity or whatever. Prove god exists first, then try and prove Jesus is god.

You obviously know nothing of history or archeology, and you should study these subjects more before you ask such ignorant questions again.

The websites below are very helpful in learning the truth about Jesus.

EDIT:
In response to your addition, I would not KNOWINGLY die for a lie, but millions have people have died for their delusions. I try not to have any. Threatening me eternal torture doesn't really make me want to believe in your disgusting repulsive death cult, so I don't know why you think that works.

Why is it so important to you that we believe as you do? Why is it that every believer in Jesus has an agenda? The man lived and died. So what? I do not dispute that he may have been a real person. Only that he is what you purport him to be. Faith is a curious thing. You either have it or you don't. But it is not something that can be acquired by those who want to thrust it upon you. If anything, the tactic backfires and you (the guy who posed this question) end up in places like this trying in vain to convert people who do not want to be converted and who know that you are basically full of crap.
I do not need a history lesson from you, young man. You would be well advised to use more than one source of information for a well-rounded point of view. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is just plain ignorance and you've displayed it to such a degree, no-one but the simplest moron would take you seriously. When dealing with knowledgeable people, you've got to have your facts straight. Your argument is specious at best.

The historical evidence (bible discluded since it is not reliable, having been controlled by the Catholic Church for centuries while others could not read) does not actually have record of a man performing miracles or having created a huge religious stir at that time. I'm not saying you can't have faith, but why isn't there more historical data? There is historical data of Cesar, but not Jesus.

I'm just trying to get you to understand how someone that doesn't already believe would have a hard time doing so.

I'm Episcopalian, but I will attempt to answer your extremely bigoted question. No one denies the existence of Jesus, the man. However, some people do deny the existence of Jesus, the God. There are many different faiths throughout the world and even people without a faith of any kind, but they should not be oppressed or ostracized or demeaned in any way. Each person has their own beliefs and you should not be trying to insult those people who do not believe as you do.

Alright first off you may be of good intent, but I do not consider the writings of man 2000 years old to be any kind of historic documentation. Even the current history books do not reveal Hitlers true religious affiliation Ah-hem another convenient cover up by who other than the religious affiliation by which Hitler stood. In order for me to affiliate myself with any organization I must at least have respect in the followers. I will not lay down my life or my beliefs for any man or god which I have zero respect for and until there is such an organization I will not even consider believing in any mans words

I believe Jesus existed.

Though I'm an atheist. Jesus was a good person, a moral innovator and I wish Christians followed his teachings a little more.

I just don't like all the superstitious baggage that goes with it. Tell me Christians - would you be good people if you knew there was no heaven and hell? A good atheist isn't good because he thinks he will be rewarded in the afterlife - isn't that more admirable than sucking up in to an adult version of Santa Claus?

Oh, slice it like it's hot to your question! I'm sorry, but I used to be a believing christian, until I found out all the messianic prophecies did not concern Jesus! And if Jesus was the messiah, why didn't he bring peace with him the first time along? And having Jesus as a mediator makes me feel like I'm not worthy enough to go directly to God! Anyways, those are my opinions!

Yep, judging your question you sound like a loving christian! If people don't wanna believe Jesus, leave them be! Yeah, the bible really does confuse me a lot lately!
