It would probably a good idea to go back to your doctor. The medication may not have been strong enough. It very well might be allergy related. Maybe you would want to see a specialist like one called an ENT specialist. That is a Ear,Nose , and Throat Specialist. Especially during this time of year with Christmas trees and plants all around. Not to mention Christmas shopping in crowds of people(their germs spreading all over the place) For fevers try tylenol. If your face hurts try very warm moist towels. Also, remember if you are given antibiotics, make sure you complete the whole cycle.. Don't quit just because you begin to feel better. Sleep elevated. Don't smoke and try to stay away from those who do smoke. Drink plenty water with the antibiotics.

Any over the counter like Advil cold and sinus and the box states that this medication works for sinusitis. The best that works for me is benedryl cold and sinus I take three at a time. Benedryl makes you very sleepy when you wake up the pain should be gone.

You may get suggestions to inhale steam or use Vick's Vap-o-Rub or even squirt water up your nose but these won't affect bacteria. If the antibiotics aren't working, you may be a candidate for sinus surgery. You really want to get rid of this. I had a patient whose chronic infections finally eroded her skull base and entered her brain. Report what you've said here to your doctor first thing in the morning.

Nutritional Therapy...and the first to consider is the food intolerance towards Dairy products.
check www.patrickholford.com as he is one of the best Nutritionist..
Also start taking Acidophiles after you are over with your antibiotics to restore the good bacteria in your body. When buying one check as should be without any dairy products or and casein produced.

You need to take a broad spectrum antibiotic to kill what is causing the sinus infection. To help with the healing you can flush your sinuses with salt water. Here is a link that talks about prevention.

If you live in a dry climate you can use a humidifier and saline nasal spray. You also can do saline washes. You basically spray the saline until it runs out for a minute or so. Some people have to get their sinuses scraped! Not fun! I have sinusitis myself and I hate it!

If you are smoking stop...My Dr gave me a rubber attachment for a water pick tooth brush. Then twice a day I would mix 1 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water and flush out my sinus.

if you keep suffering with this you might want to think about seeing a ear, nose , throat doctor.possibly your sinuses are blocked, and need to be cleared. I myself have gone though this too....in the meantime get a nasal saline solution which may help a bit. best wishes!
