I am in good shape. My doctors have told me that im in good health.I dont have really any issues with health.I was told that I had post tramatic stress.i didnt believe them at the time and the put me on meds .i worry about health to the point I cant really enjoy life.I am seeing a therapist too.I don't know why but I dred getting up everyday and facing the day and always scared that I will do something to have a heart attack or stoke or something else is going to happen.I used to think i was invincible and nothing bothered me.I had nerves of steel and took alot of chances. My doctors tell me to get out and live, but every little thing i do scares me into being careful and nervous.Im afraid to get my heart rate up and afraid that something will happen to me.I have lost weight to below where I should be because I didnt eat.Now Im worried about that. The therapist tells me the only person that can help me is me,but im afraid, what can I do to stop being afraid? Is it because im getting older?

Im sorry that I didnt add why I had post tramatic stress.I am a katrina survivor and never realised it was that tramatic for me other than moving to a place 2000 miles away from what I called home in the middle of nowhere in a very very rural place. It wasnt someones elses choice it was mine.I thought we would be happy here. But as far as fearing something happening every day .Im not sure katrina had anything to do with that ,maybe its the fact that im in a please that is so different from what im used to.

You are in good health and are regularly been seen by a doctor, so that greatly reduces the chance that you will suffer any immediate catastrophic illness in the near future.
Of course, anyone of us could suddenly die at any moment, or get hit by a bus. It is a fact of life that is pointless to fight.
In fact, not eating and excess anxiety can CAUSE illness, so you need to treat these issues if you are worried.
I agree that you have PTSD. Medication and therapy will help in time, if you make a change to think positive.
Begin a healthy eating plan, exercise regularly, and practice stress relief (i.e. mediation). You will feel better, and it will give your mind a goal to accomplish so you have less time to worry.

Hunny, My mom has post traumatic stress disorder, and she was having the same issue, It turned out 10 years later that she also had both an anxiety disorder and clinical depression, though that was the only sign she exhibited, this is what it is for her... I think that if this is something you want to deal with you should get another doctor, or talk to several about this, get more opinions, Eventually you'll find a majority that will tell you that you probably have clinical depression in the early stages, which is usually coupled with PTSD and an Anxiety disorder, Hope this helps, take care, and best wishes.

Have you gone through a hectic drama lately? Lost someone? Had a sudden health problem? Or even someone close to you had that? That might be it. You see, that's something called "Obsessive compulsive disorder" --- I know that patients of that psychological issue usually have obsessive behaviours, but that doesn't take away the obsessive emotion part. That's what you're probably having, you're too afraid to have something happening to you.. you're probably fearing death, aren't you? So maybe there is a chance that it's because you're getting older, if so - try to relax, there are people who live to a hundred, and there are who die the day they are born. Age doesn't define whether you're about to die or not, so it shouldn't be treated as so -.- (relax dude!)
