I'm 27 years of age , 5 feet 2 inches and 47 kilos, I am petite and suffer from high cholesterol due to medication I was on for my skin. What are some of the ways in addition to eating fat free foods that I can lower my cholesterol?

You are correct to avoid saturated fats, and try to eat foods low in cholesterol. So avoid shellfish like shrimp, and avoid egg yolks. Increase your SOLUBLE fiber to 7 grams daily, a good way is simply take metamucil or eat bunches of cheerios, or oatbran daily. And increase your water intake with increased dietary fibers. You can also take plant sterols, I like the Nature Made cholestoff product.

My advice to see your GP asap to see if he or she can prescribe you medication to lower your cholesterol or to give a medication instead of the first one that wont increase your blood cholesterol.
