As for paranormal/supernatural things (ghosts, etc.)
Observation and experience sufficient to overcome my skepticism.

I have had several experiences, often in the company of other people who seperately described witnessing similar events corroborating what I saw. The nature of these experiences was such that there could be no question of "tricks of the light" or trickery of any kind.

Regarding the presence of the spiritual, or why I believe in, for instance, the existence of souls, or of a creator.

I _am_ a soul. ; ) I believe in myself.

I do not pretend to know the nature of the Creator, or even whether my belief in the existence thereof is correct or can be proven. It is something I take on faith, though where possible (and it sometimes isn't), I attempt to inform my belief through observation and rational thought.

To me, faith is the tool you use when a question is not answerable (or is not answerable yet), but you need enough of an answer to decide how you will act or believe nonetheless. Faith is a choice. It is what lets you act as if you had knowledge when you may not have knowledge.

Faith is at its best when you are willing to re-think it based on evidence and experience, in my opinion.

If I look around and see the magnificence of nature, the oceans the skies, the mountains, the forests, the sunsets, the storms....I see such a fine tuned system that I wonder if that could all be an accident? The absolute beauty in children playing and laughing and the brilliance of the adult human minds that have brought us so much knowledge in science, medicine and technology.

This is such a complex world we live in....can it have all started by accident? Does it seem possible that it continues simply by accident? In my humble opinion....a Higher Power or a Creator is somehow, somewhere intertwinded with the energies of all of us and everything around us.

I think that God was the big bang. Since then, He has not been involved. What created God? I have no idea.

I truly tried to not believe for quite awhile. I just could never completely let go. Personally, I think that my soul remembers God.

I is illogical to believe in a supreme being. Maybe it is a human need for some. I don't analyze it, I just feel it.

I only believe in anything based on evidence supporting it and the wealth of anecdotal evidence from thousands of near death experiences, including clinical studies is too great to ignore. I don't believe in a personal God but I do believe that consciousness survives bodily death.

because it makes sense. There's no way to look around at the world and not see that there has to be some purpose. We all have some innate sense of God and it's imprinted onto our hearts.
