The Embryo IS the 'soul'. There is no separate part.
(Ezekiel 18:4) Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.
To 'sin' a person has to be alive. Breathing.
And if there WAS a separate part of us that survives death[ which there is NOT] it would make the scripture at Ecclesiastes 9; 5,6a lie.
And we all know that the bible does not LIE.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17Â that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

The soul is not inside any of the cells. The soul hovers around, and the souls absolutely has a choice, and the soul can decide whether it wants to use that particular body or not...depending upon whether or not it suits that souls purpose. If the soul has decide that it definitely wants to use that body, then there is no way that an abortion can possibly happen. I know this from personal experience. On the other hand, if NO soul chooses to use that particular body, then that body will have nothing to keep it alive, and so it will not remain animated.

Good question.
Every cell is part of a soul. The man is a soul as Genesis 2:7 says: "And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a LIVING SOUL." (Dust+Breath of life/spirit=a living soul)
Most abortions are performed in the first 12 weeks of life. By this stage the tiny fetus practices breathing and swallowing, and its heart is beating. It can curl its tiny toes, make a fist, turn flips in its watery world—and feel pain.
"My bones were not hidden from you
When I was made in secret,
When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw even the EMBRYO of me,
And in your book all its parts were down in writing,
As regards the days when they were formed
And there was not yet one among them." - Psalm 139:15,16

They all contain the Soul.and all cells are subject to dis-eases.
But I don't think you asked the real question you want answered . When does the soul enter into the forming physical body.

Great question!
I believe that the soul enters the body somewhere around the time that the baby is viable. Just to use a number, lets say 25 weeks. Many premies born earlier do survive.
I am not in favor of third trimester abortions, BUT, that is not my decision to make.
I believe that there is no suffering without viability as well.

The soul isn't a physical object, so none of the cells "contain" the soul.
But the soul is still very, very real.
Gravity isn't a physical object that you can touch, but gravity is still real.

Maybe another good question would be of all the millions of cells in your body where does the soul reside?

All of them contain the active potential of human life. There is no soul at all regardless of age, but that makes it no more morally permissible to kill what is, if nature is left alone, a human being.

in the google dictionary it says
The spiritual, rational, and immortal part in man; that part of man which enables him to think, and which renders him a subject of moral government; -- sometimes, in distinction from the higher nature, or spirit, of man, the so-called animal soul, that is, the seat of life, the sensitive affections and phantasy, exclusive of the voluntary and rational powers; -- sometimes, in distinction from the mind, the moral and emotional part of man's nature, the seat of feeling, in distinction from intellect; -- sometimes, the intellect only; the understanding; the seat of knowledge, as distinguished from feeling.
your soul isnt an organ its who you are. your thoughts, feelings and inner self, mostly your innerself. to me my soul is a friend that lives inside of me. its me. my worst enemy n best friend. a soul is not an organ because organs can be physically taken out and cut open.
