anyone can answer this but i was wondering...why do guys seem to always look a girl up and down before looking at her in the eye? Are they cheacking us out to see if they want to talk to us or if we are even worth there time? or do only shallow boys do that?

I don't know where you live, or how you dress, or whom you associate with, or if you are going clubbing every night, or what, but I can guarantee not every guy is out there to look you up and down like a piece of meat before he would bother himself to talk with you.
Maybe you are misinterpreting some peoples actions. I know I tend to be somewhat shy meeting new people and it is hard to look them in the eye at first. As I become more comfortable I naturally start to look them in the eye.

Because we shallow guys have been cornered in conversation by motor-mouths in the past, girls who could rap for hours about their drama. We at least want to make sure we like the reward we could earn for listening before we take the risk of talking.

Its really not a big deal. DO NOT take offense. Guys just do that. Also a thing about it is that we want to know who we are looking at. I don't know if I do that but I know I am able to visualize any girl that I know up and down. Don't take it as him coming on to you or any meaning just deal with it. If you feel like he is invading you in some way tell him, he just might stop.

For the most part, only shallow boys do that. But it has been proven that men are more stimulated visually, whereas a woman is more stimulated by touch.

I suppose only shallow guys do that. I know I would get offended if some guy started looking all over me as if to appraise me. It doesn't matter why they do it, what they do is gross and immature!

Well, the first thing I look at is their eyes. I know this sounds weird but it just takes 1 look to Z who they R.

A lot of guys do that. It's like they are checking you out to see if you are worth talking to. Or it is their way of letting you know they might be interested. I think it is rude.

I agree with the biologically hardwired explanation. No matter how platonic you become, sometimes it's unavoidable. I would take it as a compliment from a woman though.

some suggest its due to biological hardwiring. its how we look for prospective mates. i think that is a little shallow but the intent is the same. healthy women, healthy children.
