Did he love you before he got locked up? What is he locked up for? How old are you? How long will he be locked up? Some people will say they care about someone just to get someone to accept the phone calls or to send money. Be careful!

Move on. He's got nothing to do but wait and wants someone to wait with him. In the meantime you can find someone better (like not in jail) He made the mistakes, you shouldn't have to pay for them. Trust me, my sister went through this and it was not worth it. When he got out and went on the bracelet, he didn't like her leaving and hanging out with people and leaving him at home, so she was practically on the bracelet too. She couldn't have any alcohol in the house. I couldn't even bring over wine for christmas last year. He went back to jail and she finally decided enough was enough and she wasn't waiting any more. She hasn't regreted that decision for a second.

Wait for him? That is all you can do. Meanwhile, I would not put my life on hold for him. Guess this really should come down to how long he will be in prison. I do not mean date, unless this is what you want to do. I mean go out with girlfriend to the movie , bowling and do fun things. Do not cut off the rest of the world because he is in jail.

You should just move on.You probably deserve way better than a lock up (a person who's in jail or prison or whatever). He's probably not worth waiting for anyways. You shouldn't waste your time on someone who's wasting their time in lock up.Move on to someone who's there for you.

"friend in lock up"... hmm... if he's in jail or worse, prison, then no, I would NOT wait for him. unless he's innocent and you know without a SHRED of doubt, he's not worth your time, and you could be risking your life, depending on how he got there in the FIRST place. Don't do that to yourself and those who love you

Do you really even have to ask? Why are you with someone that is in jail to begin with, and to boot, why would you wait? MOVE ON! Find a good person!

You are not giving us enough information to provide any decent answer. What is he in for? How long have you known him? How does he treat you? Does he have a release date? I am inclined to say drop him if he managed to upgrade his life to incarceration but I guess everyone needs someone on their level, right?

i'm gonna be real honest with you, please don't wait for a guy to get out of prison just 'cos he says he loves you.
keep the friendship going but just date other people and then decide if u wanna wait for him.
if he really loves you, he would want you to be happy.
