i think. you will argue that with various those new rights (precise to vote, connect the army, and so on.), allowing them to drink could lead them to drink a lil extra coz they are attempting to handle the hardships of being an person. There must be problems however, once you shrink the criminal age via 3 years...this is a large replace...and enable's settle for it, making alcohol criminal for 18 12 months olds going to college could get a lil out of hand. of direction you nonetheless can get alcohol in college, despite the fact that it in all probability shouldnt' be inspired. i do no longer techniques the two way, as long because of the fact the proper regulations comprise the two determination: while you're go away the age cut back at 21, then be strict approximately it adn particularly have the age cut back be 21. in case you regulate to 18, then make constructive that the alcohol is ate up at a clever dosage. yet of direction no politician is going to stand up and say "whats up enable our babies get inebriated on the age 18." ...it may basically look undesirable!~

I come from a family of alcoholics and often think that the drinking age should be higher than it is, just because our young people are not emotionally mature enough to handle the responsibility that goes with the privelelge. I also fully support raising the driving age, for the same reasons. My b/f races his Camaro in street race events and is one of the most responsible people I know. He says now, at 33, that he was not mature enough to handle driving responsibly at 16. We both lean toward 18 for that privelege.

Driving age is fine at 16.
The drinking age bothers me. I think it is ridiculous that you can be drafted and sent to war at age 18, but you can't buy a beer. That seems a bit ridiculous.
There are irresponsible people of all ages, not just 18-21 year olds.

I like the driving age. The drinking age isn't fair. At 18 you are an adult. Why can't you drink. Well most people do but not legally.

Just in my OWN opinion the driving age should be raised up to 18 for before that age I do not believe that many of our youth are capable of logical well thought out decisions. I told my three kids who didn't get their driving license until out of high school, a car is a killing machine in the wrong hands.
As for drinking I think 21 or higher would be fine. No one should drink as much as you see some these days. It too is a killing factor, especially coupled with driving.

Sure, let's lower the drinking age and have a bunch of drunken adolesence wandering our streets and neighborhoods. Maybe we should raise the drinking age. I know some twenty-one year olds who are just kid's. It may keep these children from driving a motor vehicle but alcohol will destroy the mind that is still developing.

I think they should raise the driving age to 18. But the drinking age does not need to be lowered. 21 is plenty young enough to start down that road. (pardon the pun)

Oh yeah! There's a brilliant plan. Let's tell kids it's OK to drink before their bodies are fully developed. And then tell them that as soon as they can drink they can drive too. Absolutely Brilliant!!! Give this guy a gold star!!!
