Nothing wrong with letting her get her ears pierced. The holes can always grow back in if she doesn't want them later. People piece their newborns ears these days, which is wrong cause the kid can't give consent. But she wants it, so I say, let her! As for the horse, you can explain you don't have room for one, and on some level she will understand. If you have the means, maybe you can get her horse riding lessons?

My niece is 6 and has no interest in getting her ear pierced. My SIL thinks she is just scared. My daughter is a year and I have not gotten her ears pierced either. I don't think is "mutilating" your baby. I just think its another thing to take care of and you have to make sure it doesn't get infected. I have enough health issues to worry about with my daughter to not add to it. But seriously, I don't think ear piercing really affects anyones life positively or negatively. So I would say if you want to get your daughters ears pierced go for it. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer.

hmm.. well its your decision if you want to give your child everything she wants- which probably isn't a good idea but...
I would let her peirce her ears. It's really not that big of a deal anymore. Some people even pierce there babies ears.
Maybe you can just sign her up for some horse back riding lessons! There are some great places that actually make your child do EVERYTHING during the lesson. They have to saddle up the horse, brush it, feed it and sometimes even scoop the poop if the horse goes in the arena. This will give her a good dose of what taking care of a horse is all about. Let her do that for a year and see if she is still as serious about wanting one next birthday....

Mmmmm. Well, as someone else pointed out, a horse would be a bit of a problem in a townhouse. I don't suppose she'd settle for a "My Little Pony" or something else much smaller and made of plastic? What is it with girls and horses, anyhow?
As for the pierced ears, I suppose that depends on how you personally feel about it and whether you feel that she's too young. I think there are some cultures where little girls have their ears pierced when they're still babies. That kind of creeps me out - shouldn't the kid have a choice about it? - but it just goes to show that different folks do things differently.
And if you feel she's too young - she's too young. Period.
Best wishes -

It is considered as a healthy measure to pierce the ears even when the child is one month old. According to the accupuncturist this is supposed to protect the children from carious diseases.
There is nothing wrong in allowing her to have her ear pierced even if she is only 6.
Having a horse, well , that is a different option for the parent to consider.

Well as for me, my mother pierced my ears when I was 8 days old, so in my family, this isn't really a big deal. But I guess it's more a question of your own feelings about it. I think that little girls look so feminine and beautiful with pierced ears, so I'd say let her do it. But as for the horse....tell her to keep dreaming. lol.

Is the 13 thing something the other girls had to wait for? If you got her ears done now...would your other daughter(s) be upset? (she always gets what she wants, she's such a baby?!)
If that is the case...then wait. If it's not the case, My rule with my girls is: If your a responsible enough for the care needed for ear piercing.
A horse-She knows...shes pushing it. Laugh and buy her a Barbie horse for her B-day. Say..So you wanted a horse, here ya go.

Pierced ears ok, if she's responsible. But no horse. Take her to a horse camp for a while in the summer.

Sweetie, you are the mother she is the child, you make the decisions! That why we are the parents, to set the rules and stick with them, she may not agree, but will appreciate later.
You can also tell her level of maturity, by wanting a HORSE and there is no space in a townhouse! You handle your 6yr old...
