it could be an ulcer and if it is there re no food remedies that can help this at all .. but if it is acid reflux which is another possibility .. some things that can help are Milk which coats the esophagus so that the acid isnt effecting it as much and bread which soaks up extra acid as well as crackers and other dry foods like that but take it from me none of them work long term and none of them are a replacement for medicines that may be what u need i learned that after fighting it for years till i had a ring of scar tissue in my neck and had to get it sergically stretched so i could eat without choaking and almost killing myself ... so take your chances with the food thing if you want but you might be better off taking the medicine that you need and if it is an ulcer then you need a doctor because no foods will fix it

Yes, it could easily be an ulcer.

When you say "non-medicinal," be aware that if you have an ulcer, or gastroesophogeal reflux disease, you will HAVE to get a prescription to heal it. Fortunately, the meds to fix this are simply acid reducers -- you cannot even tell when you take them (except that your stomach slowly gets better over a couple of weeks), and they have no chemical relationship to painkillers at all.

In the meantime, take some Tums or Rolaids for your heartburn (it's basically just flavored chalk), eat smaller portions for you meals and eat more frequently when you're hungry rather than a few large meals each day. Avoid caffeine and colas.

--and see a doctor about it if the problem doesn't go away very soon.

glad to hear your cleaning up your act- now your paying the price, hugh!? we all do-- there is no such thing as heart burn-- it is actually the lack of acid in the stomach that causes the pain-- and you seem to have washed yours away , so to speak--- if you have an ulcer this will not help you and I suggest you see a DR> because they can bleed internally and kill you-- but try apple cider vinegar tablets after a meal until your body starts producing it's own (yes you can be cured of this) acid--- both my mother in law and my husband were on prescription meds for this - ans finally listened to me and are now pain and med free!!!! can be purchased at your local walmart. etc.

You need to be "scoped" by the doctor. You probably have an ulcer at the very least. You need help so get it. This is no joke boss, get to the doc...

You have a real problem. Please see a doctor. For now try club soda or tonic water. It works for me.
