Hello, just recently (within the past couple of days), I have noticed my 9 month old Chihuahua has been favouring her left hind leg. She does walk on it, and when she goes outside runs like usual, but every so often she will favour it, or carry it up in the air. I have tried examining it, though she does not cry in pain, she growls when I rubs certain areas. I am quite concerned about her, as she has already broken her right foreleg previously... due to an unexpected fall from a measly 8 inches off the ground. I'm hoping it's just a pulled muscle, but I would like some other opinions. And I do not have the luxury of going to the vet to get her looked at, as I do not have the funds any longer to get her checked for over 100 dollars a pop. Thank you in advance!

Dont worry, its nothing serious.
its just a habit, i have chihuahuas to, when they run, they kick up their back leg.
When you touch your dog, it might not like being touched or its really moody
so dont worry, nothing is wrong

I would take it in to be sure, my oldest dog has a crushed back leg and taught my chihuahua how to run, so now richard, the chiihuahua, runs on 3 legs even tho all 4 work. I would take it in just to be sure tho. better safe than sorry.

most veterinary fees just to examine the dog are around $40 and the humane society will be even cheaper. take her to a vet if you want to know for sure. no one can tell you for sure without laying their hands on the dog. she could have torn an acl or something in her knee that is quite painful.

My intention is not to be rude....If your child fell, and didn't seem to be healing properly, would you take her/him to the doctor? Should we treat our pets any different? They can't tell us where it hurts or how bad...If you are really quite concerned, please take her to the vet. I'm sure with a down payment, the office would make some sort of payment arrangement.
