My cat is a year old. He had a UTI about a month or two ago. I have recently changed their food. I am not sure if he has been eating b/c I have another cat. I am going to separate them tonight and see if the one that is sick eats anything or is able to use the bathroom. The sick cat is heavier than the other cat and I thought he could be vottiming from hairballs. I put some petrolum jelly on his paws hoping that would fix the problem. I am really worried. Please help!!! What should I do???

Cats get sick for various reasons. It's a good idea to do the checking your doing but also look at the following possibilities.

It might be a hair ball - Pet shops have a cream in a tube that you can put on your finger and let him lick off. That may fix the problem.

They also get the flu, I know, souinds funny right? Well it's true, They get it just like we do and just like dogs do. Make sure she has lots of water and it might be a good idea to give her some canned food for a couple of days.

If she can't deficate then that could be a reason, Cats get a very upset stomach when they are constipated. but whatever you do, DON'T give him milk, As the things in human milk will kill them, And have several times in the past.
If you want to give her milk, go to your nearest pet store or grocery store in the pet isles and get the specially formulated Cat milk.

Don't give him any fruit, that can cause worse problems,
The yellow is bial, normal on an emptier stomach, and also has to do with their food color, especially if it's begun to digest.

Unless a vet says to give it supplements, don't, you could harm it more than help it. As too much of certain things can make them sicker, and if they already have enough in their system they can over load and it will bring their immune system down.

Watch that he doesn't get into anything toxic or dangerous, no soaps or fabric softeners, and keep her away from any scent products for a few days. She should be good as new in a couple of days, If not, and you begin to see blood there's a deeper problem either intestional, or stomach related. Hope this helps, Take care.

Vomiting yellow liquid, without solids, could be bile. An indication of an irritated and empty stomach. You say your cat might not be eating.

I had a dog that vomited first thing in the morning. Vet suggested that Cagney was throwing up because his stomach was empty and hunger pangs irritated it. I fed Cagney before he went to bed and the vomiting stopped.

Cagney was a healthy dog otherwise. You are saying that your cat was recently diagnosed with UTI. I strongly suggest a vet visit to see if there is any connection, or if there have been complications arising from the UTI. UTI in the male cat is much more serious because of the male's short urethra compared to the female cat. If the UTI/vomiting connection can be ruled out, ask the vet about the vomiting connected to lack of food in the stomach.

If your cat is overweight and he begins to loose weight too fast because he may not be eating enough, it can be very dangerous for him. Cats get Fatty Liver Disease from fasting too long.

Yes, you do have a reason to be worried.

Re commercial hairball remedies. What do you think the main ingredient is? You guessed it, petroleum jelly. Try pineapple juice instead. The enzyme Bromelain that is in pineapple juice helps to dissolve the hair and allows it to pass through the bowels.

UTI for a kitten? That's really young -_- Do make sure your cat drink alot of water. Give icy water in summer or water with weeniest bit of organic honey. And give cranberry or blueberry supplements.

Usually yellow vomit means gastric.

As for hairball, please don't give petrolum jelly or things you don't eat yourself, there's alot of good, cheap, edible hairball supplements in the pet shops.

Get some Petromalt for hairballs. It really cleans them out and they like the taste. Get it at Petsmart.
It may also be from antibiotics if he is still taking them.
Don't give him petroleum jelly.
It could also be from the food change. It could also be from getting into something that he should'nt, antifreeze or something.

Did someone recommend petroleum jelly to you? That doesn't seem like something that should be taken internally. Try olive or fish oil next time.

Hairballs usually are yellow, so that could be it. If he isn't better in the morning, take him to the vet--better safe than sorry.

Darn you neighbor! I acquaintances could no such ingredient, ask your mothers and fathers or absolutely everyone older than you interior the domicile to communicate along with your neighbor, have them tell your neighbor that youre getting annoyed via its scent too and that youre cat have been given affected maximum via it. till now the war of words, carry your cat to a veterinarian and ask the authentic reason then if its ammonia tell it on your neighbor so he could be held resposible for it. yet in my different fringe of the suggestions, it cant be the ammonia. Cats urine have ammonia and doesnt influence them in any respect. in basic terms bypass to the vet.

our cat was fed a something different and he got very sick and it was yellowish in color, which could be because of the food, or because of stomach acids digesting,
