You can get there on Amtrak from Penn Station - it takes roughly 2.5 hours. You can drive in more or less the same amount of time depending on time of day, traffic and from where you leave in the city (it's about 120 miles). By air it's an hour or so to Bradley International (the airport serving Hartford) but that's the scheduled time -- if you add in the amount of time it takes to get to the airport and how early you have to be there to clear security, etc. it's faster to take the train or drive. Flying is also significantly more expensive.

My friend, if you're driving. The traveling distance between Hartford and Ithaca is 291 miles (465 km). The driving time between the two cities is 5 hours. Good luck

2 hours + on road via Merritt Parkway to I-91.

2 1/2 hours via Amtrak, going through Southern Connecticut then up to Hartford.

It would not make any sense to fly to Hartford from NYC. I don't think any airline carrier does that flight...too close.

You could do a bus (Greyhound) if you didn't want to pay for a train or do the drive and it won't be so bad.
