Basically the 2 and 50 multiplied will give you a 100 times the number you picked, right? And then the 250 which you add to 1756 or 1755 depending on your birthday occurance. This will surely give you 2006 if you have had your birthday, and 2005 if you didnt yet! So naturally when you subtract the year you were born in from either 2006 or 2005, you will get your age!
To put in numbers....
If we assume that
X is the number you pick and Y is the year you were born in
The equation will be
(2X + 5) * 50 + 1756 – Y
=100X + 250 + 1756 – Y
=100X + 2006 – Y
or
(2X + 5) * 50 + 1755 – Y
=100X + 250 + 1755 – Y
=100X + 2005 – Y
Hope this helped ;-)

..... of course there is mathematical explanation.....
number 2-10 after mutiply by 2 add 5 multiply by 50 will be number between 450 and 1250.
for example, you are born in Nov, the year of 2000.
In 2006, you must be in the age of 6.
ex: I take 2
(2 x 2 + 5) x 50 = 450
450+1756=2206
2206-2000=206 , you chose 2 and your age is 06, because,
--> (n x 2 + 5) x 50
--> (100n + 250) 100n that is why the number you chose will and as the hundred as in 206,this is the main trick.
as for 250, 1756+250 will be 2006, the year 2006. you take the year and substract with the you are born, of course you will get your age....
This riddle can only work in the year of 2006, to work in the year 2007, 1756 must change to 1757, 1758 for 2008 and so on.
you can also create the same riddle with differrents number.

first portion of puzzle tells..........
Pick a number (between 2 and 10)
multiply by 2
add 5
multiply by 50
2*2] +5] *50 = 450= 4*100+50
3*2] +5] *50 = 550= 5*100+50
4*2] +5] *50 = 650= 6*100+50
5*2] +5] *50 = 750= 7*100+50
6*2] +5] *50 = 850= 8*100+50
7*2] +5] *50 = 950= 9*100+50
8*2] +5] *50 = 1050= 10*100+50
9*2] +5] *50 = 1150= 11*100+50
10*2] +5] *50 = 1250= 12*100+50
Now for them who hav crossed their birthday this year add 1756,
1756=17*100 + 56
If u chose 2 as number.....for u it will come as
4*100+50 + 17*100 + 56
=>21*100 + 106
Now if u subtract ur date of birth from this which has to be in 1900-1999 only and can be written as 19*100 + x....say the year u tuk birth........
now when u subtract it.......
21*100 + 106 - 19*100 + xx = 2*100 + (106-xx)
Look carefully now...multiple of 100 gives the number u chose.... and 2006-19xx can also stand for (106-xx) so that gives your age.....
It works out exactly in this way for everything else..........
Check it out

enable x be the preliminary quantity you %., and enable y be the 12 months you have been born in. if your birthday's exceeded, the suited 3 digit quantity would be: 50(2x + 5) + 1756 - y = 100x + 250 + 1756 - y = 100x + 2006 - y. because of the fact the present 12 months is 2006 and your birthday's already exceeded, all of us know that 2006 - y is your age. further, if your birthday hasn't yet exceeded, we get the suited 3 digit quantity to be 50(2x + 5) + 1755 - y = 100x + 2005 - y. considering that for that reason your birthday hasn't yet exceeded, all of us know that 2005 - y is your age. So in the two situations the suited 3 digit quantity would be 100x + your age. as long as your age is below one hundred, this implies the 1st digit often is the quantity you first chosen and the final 2 digits would be your age. via the way it won't paintings unmodified anymore in 2007, you will could desire to apply 1757 and 1756 for the numbers to characteristic on your birthday :-)

there is a multiply by 2 and 50 in this.. which gives a 100 times ur number + 250.. add 250 to 1755 and u get 1905 (for 2005 minus 1000 - which is the max value u'll have or ur selection)

I'm not sure the mathematical reason is but i'm pretty sure it has to do with the birthday thing..cause when you add the1756 it has a 2*06 (just guessing) then when you subtract the year you were born in that kinda just takes it to your age because like when you subtract the year you were born in from the current year you get your age..it pretty much the same thing...i just guessed i'm not entirely sure...
