the fact that this bothers you shuld tell you something, but My guess is there is a reason you do not see that. I am a christian and aside from an occasional JW no one has witnessed to me since the day I got saved and not many b4 that. I don't have a sign on my door nor do I wear one over my head. How is it I look different than you. Most Christians do not go out and witness though there are those who are enthusiastic here and there. I had one hand me a trac as I left a movie theater one time and they did not pester me when I said I had already read that one and was in a hurry. Small price to pay toward someone trying to help me. It was so inconsequencial until this moment I had forgoten it.
I am certain I was witnessed to b4 I became God's friend. The only reason I am sure though is because after I got saved I Asked God why nobody told me about this great gift b4 then and within the next few weeks I was reminded of several times.
Nobody believes you are being pestered cuz no one knows anyone who is being pestered.
You are in rebellion and nobody cares that is what is bothering you.

When you ask questions like this you are begging to be converted! We have hope to share from personal experience. If we had hope of this life only we would be of all men most miserable. So, I guess we love to spread peace and good-will towards men. In your case, misery loves company if you were to pass out atheist tracts. I mean if a fellow Christian gives me a tract I say "Thank you! God bless". What in the world would you say to a fellow atheist? I would just get a big laugh out of such a thing as atheistic tracts because I've read your "reversions" and they are definitey in "reverse" and "aversions" or "deconversions" (whatever) to God and all His goodness. So much anger and hatred were expressed that I can't imagine you would get many converts since so many in the world don't have hope anyway. I just wonder if it were your son or daughter calling the Suicide Hotlines if you would prefer an atheist or Christian on the end of the line. Might an atheist say "Well you see, there is no god so it doesn't really matter because you can't sin, you don't need a savior, you won't go to heaven or hell if you pull the trigger, and it will contribute to population control. It's your choice what you do to your body and since we descended from monkeys, we are not worth anything much anyhow so good-bye" ? and I imagine a Christian might say "Oh, you are so valuable. You are special. God loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you so you don't have to. He makes life worth living. Please understand what a special unique person you are that there's nobody in the world made just like you are and God has a special plan for your life. Let's talk about it. I'm sure there's nothing that God and prayer and the help of friends can't solve. Help is on the way right now"?

Atheists are free to propagate their beliefs just as Christians and other religions are, but the Theists are generally commanded to spread the faith by the scriptures of their tenet, but with Atheists there is no commandment to spread "the truth". Its merely opinions, and if the Theist dies when Atheism is true, then all that happens is blackness - not the worst of things conceivable. But if the Theist is right, then the rewards are infinite. Thats why it is more logical for Theism to be propagated than Atheism. The truth of Theism offers more rewards than the truth of Atheism. All Atheism can boast as a reward is, 'You'll be following the truth" but Theism boasts the same thing. The Theist actually has the afterlife to look forward to as a reward.

Well, first off, Christians ARE NOT trying to convert anyone! We born again Christians know that we do not have that power to convert - only God does! We, as Christians, give witness to others about Christ - it is a requirement by God Himself that we be the bring the truth of the gospel to others. Secondly, the ones that come knocking on your door are not Christians, though they may claim to be. They are the Jehovah's Witnesses and they try to spread their false teachings by going door to door. They've come to our house several times, but we tell them to get lost. They are a cult - nothing more. Their beliefs are not according to the bible. For example, they believe that Christ first came as an angel, then somehow miraculously transformed into the Son of God, Savior of the world. We all know that's not true, if you've read in the gospels about the way Christ REALLY came about, which was not through first appearing as an angel, but the Holy Spirit blessing Mary to be the mother of Jesus: the virgin birth.

It's midnight, and you are sleeping in a hotel. Soon after wards, there was a huge fire, but you were still out cold. Someone finally bangs on your door, warning you about the fire, and helps you get outside where it is safe. Would you be ticked off at that person for waking you up so you wouldn't die? Would you really want to roll over and snooze for ten more minutes? I sure wouldn't think so. In the same sense, I do know that there is a fire, and by trying to tell you about Jesus Christ I'm not only trying to warn you about it, but show you a way to "escape" from that fire! So why do Christians keep trying to convert people? We love them with the love of a friend and don't want to see them go to hell, which IS a real place, by the way. As for an atheist who wants to pass out cards that read, "There is no God", perhaps they'd better read this first:

I'm not in any way trying to attack or offend you, only warn you. God bless!

Why do you make such blanket statements such as 'Christians' as if it were a united Christian movement out to convert you. Also, you leave out the fact that there are other religions such as Islam which actively seek out converts. Oh and don't forget about those atheists who post "subtle" comments about THERE IS NO GOD. I guess it all boils down to the fact that the some people just want to be heard.

Because Christians have bad news and Good News to share. The Bad News is "All men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." It simply means that we are all going to hell. But the Good News is that there is salvation in Jesus' Name. Anyone who thinks he has good things is free to share it with someone else. And that someone is free to reject it. Of course, if atheists REALLY think that "No God is Good News" then they are most welcome to spread their belief by whatever means, even if it means knocking on your door. It's a free country. You can say and practice what you want so long as you do not violate any state law. If such people annoy you, just tell them to go away. It's not a crime to annoy another person or to be annoyed.

Spreading the religion of Christianity and its dozens of branches is a major goal in a Christian/Catholic/Protestant/Methodist/Baptist etc. etc. etc.. person's life. But they are doing so the wrong way, especially the popes and bishops. My friend told me that they purposely altered alter the Bible to make it sound better in order to win converts >< How corrupt does that sound? I don't think God would condone the spreading of Christianity in this way through lies...They believe that if they convert enough people, it will increase their chances of going to Heaven, which is understandable. But to spread it throughout the world like that?!

No, it's because we truly see humanity for what it is, and as God sees it! Everyone needs salvation and when that final judgment day comes, hopefully you, (and as many more as we can show), will be informed and ready?!
No one's forcing anything on you. It's just that we are instructed to inform as many people as we can before it's too late! I personally wonder why so many today fear the Bible and give it such a negative connotation? All it is is just a collection of books by several different authors in one binding. Why don't people just read it for themselves and THEN make up their own minds as to its validity instead of criticizing it from an ignorant point of view - never having read it for themselves?!

I can't answer your question, since its more a statement than a question, but i guess i can give you my opinion, i have met a lot of Christians and i have sadly found that sometimes they are nice or they preach or they go to houses to convert, because they think that if they do that they will be saved, they don't do it for the well being of others, they do it for themselves, and i feel bad saying this but i feel worse for those selfish Christians.
